Tube PiP

Hi HN, I built an iOS app called Tube PiP because I was frustrated with the official YouTube app locking useful features behind Premium. Tube PiP gives you: - Picture-in-Picture (PiP) playback - Background / lock screen playback - Sleep timer - No ads - Hide Shorts (for sanity) All the stuff you normally have to pay for—free. App Store link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/tube-pip-pip-for-youtube/id647... I’d love to hear what you think. Feedback, bug reports, feature requests—bring it on!

Tube PiP launched on March 7, 2025 with 25 votes, #729 of 7,215 launches that month and more than 90% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.

I’ve used this app regularly for a long time, but recently I’ve noticed a serious issue. On several occasions I’ve left my phone untouched overnight in the exact same place as always, only to wake up and…from apps.apple.com
