Turn APIs into MCP servers without code

Hi HN! We built Zalor. It turns an OpenAPI spec into an MCP server, so you can make your APIs callable by Claude or ChatGPT without writing any code. Here's a list of specs you can try: https://github.com/ZalorAI/test-data/tree/main/openapi, but feel free to use your own. For background, MCP is a protocol that standardizes how you connect tools to AI assistants. In plain words

Zalor converts OpenAPI specifications into MCP servers, enabling APIs to be used directly by Claude and ChatGPT without code. Designed for software engineers managing API integrations, it eliminates the setup complexity typically involved in connecting tools to AI assistants. The platform handles MCP infrastructure automatically, allowing developers to maintain their existing API work while making it accessible to AI systems. Currently in early stages, it maps APIs to MCP tools with plans to improve how AI discovers and prioritizes available endpoints.

In the maker’s words, at launch

We're both engineers at large software companies, and when we worked on MCP integrations we saw how long setup took and how often the spec was changing. So we built a platform to handle the MCP infrastructure, letting you keep doing normal API work and expose it to AI when you're ready. Right now we're creating a 1:1 mapping from APIs to MCP tools, but we're working on improving tool discovery so the AI doesn't get overwhelmed by 100 endpoints at the start of every conversation. Still early. Would love feedback!

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

  • Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…

Community, All the HN belong to you. This is an archive of hacker news that fits in your browser. When I made HN Made of Primes I realized I could probably do this offline sqlite/wasm thing with the whole GBs of archive. The whole dataset. So I tried it, and this is it. Have Hacker News on your device. Go to this repo (https://github.com/DOSAYGO-STUDIO/HackerBook): you can download it. Big Query -> ETL -> npx serve docs - that's it. 20 years of HN arguments and beauty, can be yours forever. So they'll never die. Ever. It's the unkillable static archive of HN and it's…
