What it does
Usage is a free macOS menu bar app that shows how much of your Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and Antigravity plans you've used. No account, no server, analytics off by default.
Usage is a small macOS menu bar app that shows how much of your Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Copilot, and Antigravity plans you’ve used. Free, signed and notarized, and nothing to sign up for. If you’re signed in to Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, gh , or Antigravity on this Mac, Usage reads those sessions. Nothing new to log in to. No Dock icon, no window. Hover the top of the screen or press ⌘U and the panel slides out from under the notch. Usage talks to each provider directly with your own credentials. There is no Usage server, no account, and no telemetry. No account, no server, and nothing leaves your Mac except the provider calls you connect and a daily update check — here is exactly what .…from usage.download

ClaudeUsageBarJan 2026 · claudeusagebar.com · ▲398Hey all! Like many of you, I've been using Claude daily and kept having a hidden fear: when my limit will be reached? How much I have consumed in this session? Im ending up going back and forth to settings > usage to check Literally every 5mns So I built ClaudeUsageBar, a minimal menu bar app that shows your Claude usage percentage at a glance. What it does: Shows your current session (5-hour) and weekly usage directly in the menu bar Notifies you at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 90% thresholds so you can pace yourself Displays exactly when your limits reset Works with both Free and Pro plans Privacy…

macOS menu bar app to track Claude usage in real timeJan 2026 · github.com · ▲161I built a macOS menu bar app to track Claude usage in real time via API after hitting limits mid-flow too often. Signed and notarised by Apple. Open source. https://github.com/richhickson/claudecodeusage https://x.com/richhickson

Usage4ClaudeOct 2025 · github.com · ▲109I kept hitting Claude's 5-hour limit without realizing it, so I made this menu bar app to track it. Shows a color-coded ring (green/orange/red) and countdown to reset. Built it in Swift/SwiftUI, just for myself initially. Right now you have to manually grab your sessionKey from browser DevTools, which is annoying but works. Stores it in macOS Keychain so it's secure. Been actively working on it, already at v1.3.0 with much better UX now. It's open source (MIT) and works with all Claude platforms (web/CLI/desktop/mobile) since they share the quota. Currently…

Clipto MCP▲655Hey HN, We recently built Clipto. It’s a tool that lets you search over terabytes of video, audio, and images on your computer, without relying on the cloud. Motivation: we probably all had this similar experience, we know a moment exists in a video or audio, but finding it takes hours scrubbing the timeline. You can send all the media to process in the cloud, but it’s slow, expensive and raises privacy concerns. So we decided to build our own on-device media search engine. How it works (high level): 1. We ingest video, audio, image; normalize formats via ffmpeg; run content analysis to…

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…
