VerticalChange, SurveyMonkey meets Highrise (and a LOT of AngularJS)

We built a "people management platform". I think this falls into the "unsexy" category. Users can build custom forms to track any type of data for people. While the application is applicable in many different markets, our initial target is social-service agencies, non-profits, and case-managers (it’s where we think we can make the biggest positive impact). Technology wise, our upcoming blog posts might be something like “2 years with AngularJS” and “HIPAA Compliance on AWS”. We’ve had a great time developing with tools and platforms like AngularJS, Postgres (w/ hstore), Rails, Golang,…

What it does

In the maker’s words, at launch

We built a "people management platform". I think this falls into the "unsexy" category. Users can build custom forms to track any type of data for people. While the application is applicable in many different markets, our initial target is social-service agencies, non-profits, and case-managers (it’s where we think we can make the biggest positive impact). Technology wise, our upcoming blog posts might be something like “2 years with AngularJS” and “HIPAA Compliance on AWS”. We’ve had a great time developing with tools and platforms like AngularJS, Postgres (w/ hstore), Rails, Golang, Chef, AWS (VPC), etc. A long time in the making, we have happy clients, and are really excited to get some more eyes on it. Any feedback is always appreciated, and I'm happy to answer any questions. Thanks!

    Bootstrap your startup with high end gigs2011 · grouptalent.com · ▲71

Hey guys, we just launched a platform to match top startups with high end projects. We're focused on supporting startups that would rather take on a short term consulting gig than raising a round of funding. We'd love some feedback. Thanks!

Make your AngularJS, EmberJS, or BackboneJS website crawlable by Google2013 · ▲13

http://www.BromBone.com I posted “Tell HN: My Web App has 13 Users” 3 months ago (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=5386966). Over time, it grew to 150 (free) users, but retention was pretty much zero. I was trying to cast a wide net and offer a generic “headless browser as a service”. It turned out I had make a service that was a little helpful to many people, but didn't really solve anyone's problem completely. I finally took the advise offered in that thread. I focused on a problem I understood, and solved it completely instead of just offering a helpful tool.…

    I'm offering consulting for non-technical folks and startups2011 · ▲31

Inspired by a good friend who did Unstick.me, as well as the recent MVP for 1k project, I've decided to give consulting a shot by offering my services as a developer and product guy to non-technical folks and early-stage web startups who are looking to brainstorm on both the technology and product side, and possibly looking to have an MVP built based on their idea. I started accepting requests the other day solely with a Wufoo form, and just launched a proper one-page site here: http://youshouldworkwith.me/ Curious to hear feedback on the offer and idea in general. It's the first time I've…

UK Company Dashboard and Search (Lockdown Project)2020 · ▲8

Hi HN, https://companies.bx.tc My colleague and I put together this tool for easily searching UK company data. We run a few server side batches daily to extract data from various government sources before linking it all together in (what is now) a fairly large database. We're also using this project as a way to test out a new JS UI library we built (similar to Vue, but a bit faster) to see how it stands up in a real project. We'd love to hear your feedback and any ideas you have for how we can improve the dashboard! Thanks :)

  • Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…
