VICE Platform - Private Beta
Security scans for people who ship fast
What it does
VICE audits your web app the way an attacker would: leaked secrets in your bundles, Supabase RLS misconfigurations, exposed APIs, weak headers and infrastructure.... The engine is open source and free today, as a CLI or a GitHub Action. The hosted Platform adds the full loop: verify your domain, run a full audit, get findings with evidence, apply a suggested fix, then retest to confirm it's gone. It opens as a private beta with 10 founding spots. Built for indie builders who ship fast.
Security audits in about a minute, built for indie builders. Supabase RLS deep scan, AI fixes, and a public security score. Free light scan, no signup.
VICE scans your product the way an attacker would: headers, TLS, exposed secrets, Supabase RLS. Then it hands you a clear score with the exact fix for every finding. npm install -g vice-security Trusted by builders shipping real products Security reports you can actually read No compliance theater, no fear-mongering. Findings, evidence, and the exact fix. Written for builders, not CISOs. The light scan covers headers, TLS, exposed files and leaked secrets, then comes back with a score while other scanners are still warming up. $ vice scan acme.dev ▸ headers ········· 12 checks ▸ tls ············· valid, HSTS on ▸ files ··········· no .env exposed ▸ supabase ········ 1 RLS gap score 82/100 ·…from vice-platform.com

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
