Hi HN, I’m testing an idea: a Fragrantica-style database, but for watches. Instead of hype reviews or spec sheets, watches are rated on real-world factors like value for money, durability, comfort, and long-term accuracy. This is a very early MVP (mostly a landing page) to validate whether the idea is useful. I’d really appreciate honest feedback — what’s missing, what feels unnecessary, or whether you’d use something like this at all.

Shopping online can be pretty tedious if you care about the quality of what you are buying. The time it takes can scale pretty proportionally to some combination of the value, relative importance, and complexity of the purchase. I think LLMs can help expedite and personalize the online shopping experience to a degree marketplaces just don't currently provide. I don't think anybody really wants to read the product descriptions of a bunch of products, read reviews, do pairwise product comparisons, and find the best deals across different websites? Or am I wrong? That's why I think this…

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

Hey HN! I wanted to share something I built over the last few weeks: isometric.nyc is a massive isometric pixel art map of NYC, built with nano banana and coding agents. I didn't write a single line of code. Of course no-code doesn't mean no-engineering. This project took a lot more manual labor than I'd hoped! I wrote a deep dive on the workflow and some thoughts about the future of AI coding and creativity: http://cannoneyed.com/projects/isometric-nyc
