WatchNest

Co-watch Netflix, Disney+, Prime, YouTube & HBO Max

What it does

WatchNest turns Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, YouTube, and HBO Max into a shared movie night — no matter the distance. Playback stays synced to the exact frame, so nobody's ahead or behind. Live chat, emoji reactions, and camera calls sit right next to the video instead of covering it. Rooms are private and capped at 2–4 people: no public lobbies, no feed. Guests join free with a single link and don't need an account. Free plan to start, paid plans for HD camera and bigger rooms.

WatchNest is a free watch party extension for Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, YouTube, and HBO Max — synced playback, live chat, video calls, and private rooms for couples and small groups.

Synced playback, live chat, camera calls, and AI-powered features for Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, YouTube, and HBO Max. Every room comes with playback sync, live chat, reactions, and camera — no setup, no extra apps. Play, pause, and seek stay perfectly aligned — down to the frame. The host controls the room, guests just watch. One link, fast join, intimate space. Like a date or a close-friends sofa — no public lobbies, ever. Presence without chaos — tight, personal video for small rooms. Play trivia during the show. Test your knowledge, see who's fastest. One person keeps the room in sync — nobody accidentally derails movie night. Install WatchNest in seconds. Works directly on your…from watchnest.party

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
