In plain words

WebGPU + TypeScript Slime Mold is a simulation project that models slime mold behavior using WebGPU and TypeScript. It's designed for developers and hobbyists interested in emergent systems and computational biology. The project simulates how slime mold organisms move and interact, leveraging WebGPU for GPU-accelerated graphics rendering to visualize the behavior in real time.

I made this slime mold simulation to learn more about WebGPU and compute shaders. It's essentially a recreation of Sebastian Lague's coding adventure (albiet with fewer features). Here's a 45-second demo on Twitter , Threads , and r/GraphicsProgramming . You can also try the playable demo on my website (linked in the about section of this repo). Just know that WebGPU doesn't work on all devices so you might get an error screen. # Setup Guide (for everyone). git clone https://github.com/SuboptimalEng/slime-sim-webgpu.git cd slime-sim-webgpu npm install npm run dev # How to Deploy to GitHub Pages (mainly for me). # First, go to main.tsx file and enable StrictMode. npm run build npm run deploy…from github.com

Hello HN! We’re a small creative studio specializing in real-time 3D experiences. Netlify approached us to design and build an interactive experience to celebrate reaching 5 million developers. Inspired by the classic game Marble Madness, we created a gamified experience where users control a ball through playful, interactive levels. The goal was to blend marketing content with the look and feel of a game to engage users. The app is built with Three.js [1], using our custom render pipeline and shaders, and uses Rapier for physics simulation [2]. The 2D content is overlaid on the WebGL view…

    Tetris in a PDFâ–²1,289

I realized that the PDF engines of modern desktop browsers (PDFium and PDF.js) support JavaScript with enough I/O primitives to make a basic game like Tetris. It was a bit tricky to find a union of features that work in both engines, but in the end it turns out that showing/hiding annotation "fields" works well to make monochrome pixels, and keyboard input can be achieved by typing in a text input box. All in all it's quite janky but a nice reminder of how general purpose PDF scripting can be. The linked PDF is all ASCII so you can just open it in a text editor, or have a look at…

I originally built this app to organize and reuse interesting React + Tailwind components I came across on Twitter, inspired by the shadcn/ui approach. Later, a friend started contributing their own components, and it got me thinking—this could grow into something bigger, like an NPM for design engineers to share and use components. Would love to hear your thoughts!
