Wedding Website

A beautiful, feature-rich, open-source wedding website.

Wedding Website launched on February 14, 2020 with 6 votes, #1,040 of 3,162 launches that month and more than 50% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 6 years on.

What it does

A mobile friendly, open-source wedding website that has a RSVP feature and still doesn't require any database or backend servers. It can be easily hosted for free on GitHub, Netlify, etc. Check out the blog or github page to know more.

I made this website for my wedding in November 2017 and thought of open-sourcing it on my 1st anniversary. I honestly had put a good amount of time developing it so reckoned this effort may help others save some of their time. Hope you guys like it. I made this website using Twitter’s Bootstrap Framework ––one of the famous and widely used. Ergo, if you know Bootstrap then you can easily customize, align the elements differently, or override the CSS styles, etc. I have leveraged the Bootstrap Grid System to make this device agnostic so that your guests can simply open your wedding website on their mobile phones or tablets and RSVP. You can even see a live demo of how the site looks on…from blog.rampatra.com

It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
