WetoDrive

Hey HN I’m excited to share WeToDrive (https://wetodrive.com) a tool I built to solve a practical pain point I kept encountering: whenever someone sent me a WeTransfer link, I had to download the files locally and then upload them to Google Drive. That’s two steps and sometimes clunky (slow, uses local disk, duplicates, manual). With WeToDrive, you paste a WeTransfer link and the files get saved directly into your Google Drive. No local download, no extra storage needed on your machine. What you can do right away: Paste a WeTransfer link Grant access via OAuth to your Google Drive…

I built Hirosend because I needed a fast and secure way to send files to clients without asking them to create accounts or navigate permission screens. Dropbox/Drive were too heavy for one-off transfers, WeTransfer felt clunky for quick sends, and I really missed the simplicity Firefox Send had before it shut down. Hirosend lets you upload a file, set expiration, add an optional password, or generate a one-time magic link. Recipients just click and download — no signup required on their side. Files are encrypted before being stored and automatically deleted after expiration. There are…

Apps like dropbox, and google drive, we transfer don't work in some parts of Asia (India, China, etc) for various reasons. It's pretty hard to share huge docs/slides/presentations to our vendors and customers in this part of the world. I work for a small company and needed to solve this problem, so I built a tool that is multi-cloud backed on Cloudflare R2 + Alibaba Object Storage with a Vue js front-end. It does the job reasonably well. You can send 3gb of files to anyone and include a video message, too; please try it out and let me know what you think. We have reasonably good…

    Encrypt and upload files to IPFS from browser2023 · thirdcloud.org · ▲73

Hi HN, I'm building ThirdCloud with the goal to replace Google Drive for everyone: more private, cheaper & maybe better UI/UX. So far, I've successfully implemented the main feature, which involves uploading and downloading files. Files are encrypted before being sent to IPFS network. Would like to hear your thoughts on this proof of concept.

Hey HN, I built SendFast (https://sendfast.app) because I was tired of clunky urls, and not knowing when my files are viewed. Google Drive links are long and annoying, WeTransfer has ads and expirations, and most alternatives don’t tell you if someone actually opened your file. With SendFast: - You upload and share files up to 32GB - Get notifications when someone views or downloads your file (no more “Did you get my email?”) - Recipients don’t need an account & can preview files (images/videos/pdf) instantly without ads - Links won’t expire as long as you need them [also…

  • I went down the rabbit hole on a side project and ended up building this: Strange Attractors(https://blog.shashanktomar.com/posts/strange-attractors). It’s built with three.js. Working on it reminded me of the little "maths for fun" exercises I used to do while learning programming in early days. Just trying things out, getting fascinated and geeky, and being surprised by the results. I spent way too much time on this, but it was extreme fun. My favorite part: someone pointed me to the Simone Attractor on Threads. It is a 2D attractor and I asked GPT to extrapolate it to…

  • Hey all, I built this. It’s not trying to capture every autistic experience (that’d be impossible). It’s based on my own lived experience as well as that of friends on the spectrum. I'm trying to give people a feel for what masking, decision fatigue, and burnout can look like day-to-day. That’s hard to explain in words, but easier to show through choices and stats. I'm not trying to "define autism". I’ve gotten good feedback here about resilience, meds, and difficulty tuning. I’ll keep tweaking it. If even a few people walk away thinking, "ah, maybe that’s why my coworker struggles in those…
