What time is it in Corporate

Three months ago someone posted a site that showed time in corporate [1] The most interesting comment to me was about the National Retail Federation 4-5-4 calendar. That calendar was hard to understand, so I made a visualization of it. I also implemented the other calendar types people were asking for. I did find the SEC dataset of 10032 publicly traded companies [2][3], but have not finished implementing a search for symbol yet. What time is it in Corporate launched on June 26, 2025 with 11 votes, #2,422 of 7,999 launches that month and more than 75% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.

In plain words

What Time is it in Corporate visualizes alternative calendar systems used by businesses, particularly the National Retail Federation's 4-5-4 calendar that divides the year into weeks rather than months. The tool helps finance professionals, retailers, and business analysts understand how time is tracked in corporate environments by showing multiple calendar formats side-by-side. It includes data from over 10,000 publicly traded companies, though company search functionality is still in development.

(* within a few minutes of SEC filing) Currently does it for 1000+ US companies and specifically earnings related filings. By US companies, I mean the ones that are obliged to file SEC filings. This was the result of almost a year long effort and hundreds of prototypes :) It currently auto-publishes for 1000 ish US companies by market cap, relies on 8-K filing as a trigger. e.g. https://www.signalbloom.ai/news/NVDA will take you to NVDA earnings Would be grateful to get some feedback. Especially if you follow a company, check its reports out. Thank you! Some examples:…

Hey HN! Pilots everywhere are required to keep a logbook of all their flying hours, aircraft, airports, and so on. Since I track everything digitally (some people still just use paper logbooks!), I put together some data visualizations and a few 3D globes to show my flying history. This globe is probably my favourite so far: https://jameshard.ing/pilot/globes/all If you’ve got ideas for other graphs or ways to show this kind of data, I’d love to hear them!

  • I was the main contributor to workout.lol, an open-source fitness app to easily build a workout routine. The project had traction (1.4k GitHub stars, 95 forks, ~20K visits/month), but was eventually sold due to video licensing hurdles. The new owner stopped maintaining it, and the repo went abandoned. Over the next 9 months, I sent 15 emails to try to save it : no replies. Feature requests & issues were ignored. The community was left with a "broken" tool let's say. I couldn't just let it die So I built the new version from scratch with the same open-source spirit, but a better…
