WhatsApp Chat Viewer – exported chats as HTML

I built this to make it easier to review exported WhatsApp conversations. It generates an HTML page with embedded images, videos, and audio players. It can also transcribe audio messages using OpenAI's API and correct them using an LLM with conversation context for better accuracy.

What it does

Generate a WhatsApp-style HTML page from an exported chat, with support for images, videos, audio, PDFs, and optional audio transcription. - rodrigodesalvobraz/whatsapp-chat-viewer

WhatsApp's built-in chat export produces a plain text file and a folder of loose media files, which is hard to read and navigate. This tool generates a clean, browsable HTML page from that export, with embedded images, videos, audio players, PDFs, and optional audio transcriptions, and image and PDF descriptions. These latter elements are particularly useful for search and automatic processing of long conversations. pip install -r requirements.txt For audio transcription, image descriptions, and PDF descriptions, set your OpenAI API key: # Linux/macOS export OPENAI_API_KEY="sk-..." # Windows setx OPENAI_API_KEY "sk-..." Usage Basic python whatsapp_viewer.py --dir "path/to/chat/folder" This…from github.com

Hello my name is Ben Ward for the past 3 years I have been remastering the financial game Wall Street Raider created by Michael Jenkins originally on DOS in 1986. It has been a rough journey but I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I just recently redid the website and thought maybe the full story of how this project came to be would interest you all. Thank you for reading.
