Where Is Artemis?
The other day I googled "Where is Artemis" expecting to find a tracker showing me the position, but instead getting results from news articles without live data. I eventually found the NASA tracker (https://www.nasa.gov/missions/artemis-ii/arow/) and https://artemislivetracker.com/, but neither is optimized for mobile and frankly I found them both underwhelming. The domain (whereisartemis.com) was available and I thought "someone should use that", bought the domain and got started. Hopefully, this is something that can be extended for future…
What it does
In the maker’s words, at launch
The other day I googled "Where is Artemis" expecting to find a tracker showing me the position, but instead getting results from news articles without live data. I eventually found the NASA tracker (https://www.nasa.gov/missions/artemis-ii/arow/) and https://artemislivetracker.com/, but neither is optimized for mobile and frankly I found them both underwhelming. The domain (whereisartemis.com) was available and I thought "someone should use that", bought the domain and got started. Hopefully, this is something that can be extended for future Artemis missions and help build engagement for the Artemis program and space travel in general :) The tracker includes: - Real-time 3D scene with toggleable camera views (top-down or free orbit), - Live telemetry: Distance from Earth/Moon, current speed etc. - Live video from NASA - Mission schedule with countdowns to upcoming events (lunar flyby, splashdown, etc.) - Mission coverage with links to NASA articles - Mobile and desktop support How it works under the hood: - Live position and trajectory data is pulled directly from the NASA/JPL Horizons API. - Built with Next.js, React Three Fiber/ThreeJS, and Tailwind CSS. all alternatives →- TATelescope, a news reader app2017 · ▲90
I got fed up with the news reader apps out there so I decided to make my own. Its a simple concept where it tracks all your favorite news sources for new posts and the social shares it received. Then it ranks it HN/Reddit style using social shares as upvotes. It's not meant to be alternative to HN, just a focused way to track your favorite sources. Please try it out and let me know what do you think, http://telescope.surf/ Note: you can do 'Add to Homescreen' on mobile to make it as an app. Please leave a feedback or any feature wishlist you may have. Thanks!

- CACreated a Job Board for Remote Programming Jobs2010 · ▲23
Based on the multiple "Who's hiring remotely?" and similar posts on HN, I thought it might be useful to have a site that aggregates remote programming jobs. There is way too much spam out and an inconsistent way to say "work from home" so traditional searching doesn't work (or rather, takes a long time per person). I've worked in a few remote programming positions so I figured I might know of some companies or searching tricks to find them. Let me know if you'd find this type of thing useful. If we can get some traffic going, then maybe we can start attracting companies to actually list…
- MNMy new flight tracker, flightlite.com2010 · ▲11
http://flightlite.com Flightlite is a visual flight tracker combining 3D and overhead views and flight information. It is my first launch since I started reading Hacker News and was developed as a side project for the past 6 months or so. I made the final push on it this morning to get it to a semi-launchable state. - The best coverage is US and UK - Sometimes the data I get is a bit crazy (spent a lot of effort to correct/sanitise it but it's not perfect) - Doesn't work in IE 64bit or Linux due to Google Earth not being available I'm now trying to work out how to take this further, if there…
- ANA new type of freelancer marketplace2012 · ▲7
Hey HN, we just launched MyRudius.com -- a completely new type of marketplace to find freelance gigs. I'd sincerely appreciate any feedback! Feel free to be blunt and honest... There's definitely work to be done. It currently uses fairly out-of-the-box Twitter Boostrap, for one thing. Thanks for any feedback available! http://www.myrudius.com

Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…

With social media and now AI, its important to keep the indie web alive. There are many people who write frequently. Blogosphere tries to highlight them by fetching the recent posts from personal blogs across many categories. There are two versions: Minimal (HN-inspired, fast, static): https://text.blogosphere.app/ Non-minimal: https://blogosphere.app/ If you don't find your blog (or your favorite ones), please add them. I will review and approve it.
