In plain words

Whisker is a real-time debugger designed for Pipecat voice AI agents. It helps developers monitor and troubleshoot voice AI applications as they run, providing visibility into agent behavior and performance. The tool integrates with Pipecat's framework to identify issues during development and testing. Whisker is for engineers building voice-based AI systems who need to understand what their agents are doing in real time.

From the sources

Whisker is a low-level debugger for the Pipecat voice and multimodal conversational AI framework. Pipecat is a multi-agent systems: workers spawn sub-workers, send jobs to each other, and exchange messages on a shared bus. Whisker gives you a single view over the whole system so you can see exactly what every part is doing. Think of Whisker as trace logging with batteries for Pipecat applications. uv pip install pipecat-ai-whisker Add Whisker to your Pipecat pipeline Whisker is split into two pieces: a WhiskerServer that owns the WebSocket connection to the UI (and listens on the Pipecat bus for cross-worker events), and per-worker WhiskerObserver s that forward frame events to the server.…from github.com

I've been obsessed for the past ~year with the possibilities of talking to LLMs. I built a bunch of one-off prototypes, shared code on X, started a Meetup group in SF, and co-hosted a big hackathon. It turns out that there are a few low-level problems that everybody building conversational/real-time AI needs to solve on the way to building/shipping something that works well: low-latency media transport, echo cancellation, voice activity detection, phrase endpointing, pipelining data between models/services, handling voice interruptions, swapping out different…

Hello HN, I don't post on here much, but wanted to get some eyes on a new project I'm just launching. I think we definitely need one more AI code agent.. I'm a long-term C++ dev, and over 30+ years I've created some successful audio dev tools (JUCE, the Tracktion DAW, the Cmajor DSP language). All of these came from me getting annoyed with something I had to use, and deciding to have a go at my own take on whatever it was. So Juggler is my attempt at an AI code agent, after spending too many hours loving what the models could do, but hating the CLI experience, and having some opinions of…

Our goal with this project is to build a completely open source, state of the art turn detection model that can be used in any voice AI application. I've been experimenting with LLM voice conversations since GPT-4 was first released. (There's a previous front page Show HN about Pipecat, the open source voice AI orchestration framework I work on. [1]) It's been almost two years, and for most of that time, I've been expecting that someone would "solve" turn detection. We all built initial, pretty good 80/20 versions of turn detection on top of VAD (voice activity detection) models. And…

This model has 15M parameters. This release supports English text-to-speech applications in eight voices: four male and four female. The model is quantized to int8 + fp16, and it uses onnx for runtime. The model is designed to run literally anywhere eg. raspberry pi, low-end smartphones, wearables, browsers etc. No GPU required! We're releasing this to give early users a sense of the latency and voices…
