What it does
WiFi Explorer gathers configuration and capability information about all the networks it discovers and presents it on an easy-to-use, intuitive user interface. Information includes network name (SSID), BSSID, vendor, country code, channel, band, security configuration, supported data rates, number of streams, and much more.
In some cases, after an update, macOS Big Sur or Monterey fails to give WiFi Explorer the necessary permissions for scanning. When this problem occurs, WiFi Explorer shows no scan results even though networks are in range. To resolve this issue, make sure WiFi Explorer has access to Location Services. Then, restart your computer.
