WindowKeys 3.0

Hello, I’ve just released version 3.0 of WindowKeys, a small utility for macOS that gives you full control over the native window tiling system introduced in macOS Sequoia. Originally, WindowKeys was built to solve one very specific problem: assigning custom keyboard shortcuts to window tiling actions — especially useful if you use a third-party keyboard that can’t trigger system shortcuts. Over time it evolved beyond just shortcuts, and now 3.0 adds a few frequently requested features: - Move windows between displays (or iPad) - Repeat last tiling action for each app - Redesigned Shortcut…

WindowKeys 3.0 launched on June 10, 2025 with 125 votes, #338 of 7,999 launches that month and more than 95% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.

What it does

Access all native window-tiling actions in one panel. Repeat the last tiling action per app. Move windows between displays (and iPad). Fully customizable shortcuts, even for third-party keyboards. Completely free.

Access all native macOS window tiling commands in one place — the Tiling Panel. Customize keyboard shortcuts and use them on any keyboard, even third-party ones.

    A Tiling Window Manager for Windows, Written in Janet2025 · agent-kilo.github.io · ▲297

Hi HN! I read[1] about Janet[2] some time ago, then immediately got impressed by the enthusiasm of its community, and by the language itself, so I started playing with it. At the time I was searching for a tiling window manager for Windows, and unavoidably the idea of scratching my own itch with Janet got hold of me, so Jwno was born. Simply put, Jwno is a keyboard-driven tiling window manager for Windows, scriptable with Janet. But since it has a complete Lisp runtime, and a thin wrapper library for Win32 APIs[3], you can certainly do much more with it. I hope you'll enjoy playing with it…

Hey HN! Pilots everywhere are required to keep a logbook of all their flying hours, aircraft, airports, and so on. Since I track everything digitally (some people still just use paper logbooks!), I put together some data visualizations and a few 3D globes to show my flying history. This globe is probably my favourite so far: https://jameshard.ing/pilot/globes/all If you’ve got ideas for other graphs or ways to show this kind of data, I’d love to hear them!

  • I was the main contributor to workout.lol, an open-source fitness app to easily build a workout routine. The project had traction (1.4k GitHub stars, 95 forks, ~20K visits/month), but was eventually sold due to video licensing hurdles. The new owner stopped maintaining it, and the repo went abandoned. Over the next 9 months, I sent 15 emails to try to save it : no replies. Feature requests & issues were ignored. The community was left with a "broken" tool let's say. I couldn't just let it die So I built the new version from scratch with the same open-source spirit, but a better…
