Our Story The XOScript programming language is a server-side scripting language that has been in development under various names since 1993. The first version of XOScript was called BASIC-NL and ran on a Commodore 64 in 1993 using a special hack on the KCS power cartridge. In 2009, the project was restarted with a focus on research, localization, and educational use (Citrine-lang). Between 2020-2025, it became apparent that existing server-side scripting languages had grown increasingly complex and heavy over time, leading to concerns about attack surfaces, code quality, backward compatibility (due to frequent breaking changes) and control. In response, a new edition of the programming…from xoscript.com

Hi all, I'm a PM by day who taught themselves to code over COVID. One of the things I enjoyed during that process was learning how to make basic games in Unreal Engine using Blueprints. I found visual scripting was such an intuitive way to express what I call "mid-tier complexity" logic and I felt there really wasn't a great equivalent for the web - so I built one over the last few months and this is my MVP. Tools like Zapier etc are great and easy to use, but they're heavily limited when it comes to expressing any kind of complex logic or trying to follow coding principles like DRY. On the…

Hey HN! I wanted to share something I built over the last few weeks: isometric.nyc is a massive isometric pixel art map of NYC, built with nano banana and coding agents. I didn't write a single line of code. Of course no-code doesn't mean no-engineering. This project took a lot more manual labor than I'd hoped! I wrote a deep dive on the workflow and some thoughts about the future of AI coding and creativity: http://cannoneyed.com/projects/isometric-nyc
