What it does

Spend your time on the work, not the terminal. xtty is a native macOS terminal for everyday SSH and coding-agent work. Batch-connect to saved hosts, use configured password autofill, transfer files with sz/rz, and work with tabs and split panes. Duplicate Tab opens an independent SSH connection in the same remote directory. Includes broadcast input and coding-agent status. Apple Silicon and Intel. Free edition; optional one-time Pro purchase.

A native macOS terminal for SSH sessions, file transfers, autofill, and the coding agents you already use.

You use a terminal all day. It shouldn’t become part of the work. Another session should pick up where you are. Same server, same working directory — without starting over. Choose your servers. xtty takes care of the connection path. When a familiar prompt appears, xtty fills the matching credential from Keychain. Run commands across the sessions you need. Move files without leaving the terminal. Upload or download from the remote session you’re already using. Let your agents work in the background. Come back when they need you. See each agent’s status at a glance. Jump back to the right session when it needs you. Keep tabs down the side or across the top. Choose what feels right. Pick your…from xtty.sh

It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
