Yad
Free, open-source, local-first AI browser agent
What it does
Yad is a free, open-source AI browser agent that runs on Chrome and Brave (Edge in review), with two parts: a browser extension (Part A, the hand) and a local Companion (Part B, the brain). Runs on your own computer, never a cloud copy of your accounts. Your API key is encrypted on your device, capped, and stoppable with one click. Repeats cost zero further AI calls. Read the proof on our public Security page before you install.

Yad does tasks on any website for you, in Chrome or Brave. You say what you want in plain words, and it clicks and types in your own browser, with your own logins. The Chrome extension you watch clicking and typing inside your browser. A small free app (the companion) on your own computer. It runs the AI you choose, doing the thinking Chrome will not let the extension do on its own, so your logins and passwords never leave your machine. Both parts are free, open source, and run only on your own computer. See how it works An unedited recording of…from yadagent.com

I made OwnTime to balance between competing priorities in my life. The idea is based on two main influences: the concept of "roles" from "The 5 Choices" (2015), and my repeated failure to effectively implement time blocking due to the necessary flexibility in my role. The app allows you to define time budgets, which are not much more than a few mutually exclusive countdown timers. The UX is essentially that of a chess clock for an arbitrary number of players with configurable time. The whole point of the app is to kick you out of the running role/priority when its time is up.
