What it does
Timing you can trust for a whole session, ten full themes, and seven fullscreen visuals that move on the beat. Free, and nothing you play ever leaves your computer. Every click lands where it should. Leave it running for a whole session and bar 400 arrives exactly where bar 1 promised it would. Free, and open source. No account, no subscription, and no upsell screen halfway through your practice. Even the practice coach. It listens and scores your session without sending a single note anywhere. Cosmos, gravity, rain, warp, radar, pulse and focus — seven fullscreen visuals that move on the beat, in whichever theme you picked. Hey HN, Henry here from Cactus. We open-sourced Needle, a 26M parameter function-calling (tool use) model. It runs at 6000 tok/s prefill and 1200 tok/s decode on consumer devices. We were always frustrated by the little effort made towards building agentic models that run on budget phones, so we conducted investigations that led to an observation: agentic experiences are built upon tool calling, and massive models are overkill for it. Tool calling is fundamentally retrieval-and-assembly (match query to tool name, extract argument values, emit JSON), not reasoning. Cross-attention…
