YoRecord
Hey HN, I’m a PM who just wants to show teammates where things break / give feedback without paying $15–$30/month for Loom, Tella, or Screen.studio. Most of the time all I need is: click record, talk, hand over a link. So I built YoRecord.com for two simple reasons: 1. Save time—no installs, no Google-OAuth dance 2. Save money—recordings are free, HD, and downloadable in one click. Open the site, pick a tab or your whole desktop, talk through the issue, hit Stop. Now you can already get a link for sharing, this will upload the recording to cloud. Or you can download as MP4 - in…
YoRecord launched on June 17, 2025 with 7 votes, #3,918 of 7,999 launches that month. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.
What it does
Record and share beautiful screen-recordings instantly. No sign-up, no install. Perfect for giving feedback, reporting bugs, or explaining ideas to teammates and customers. Runs right in your browser. It’s free, fast. Go async messaging instead of meetings.
Record and share screen videos with webcam overlays and AI subtitles - no downloads needed. Fast, private, and free for tutorials, demos, and team feedback.
Record your screen and webcam, add AI subtitles, trim out the boring parts, export an MP4. One tab, start to finish. The real editor, not a screenshot. Press play, scrub, drag the camera, edit a caption. The YoRecord editor, recorded with YoRecord. Watermark and all. Three steps. What you see below is the actual product, not mockups. Pick a tab, window, or screen. If you want your face in the corner, add the camera as a floating bubble. Elapsed time so far: about three seconds. Trim the dead air, speed up the slow parts, cut it into chapters. AI subtitles take one click, and you can fix them word by word. Download the MP4, or make a share link if you want one. Either way, the recording…from yorecord.com

Hi HN, I've been working on this project for the last 5 months, inspired by Screen Studio but runs 100% in the browser. Here is a demo of the editor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7-etsFZgPI One of the big challenges of using the browser is getDisplayMedia, the API for recording screens, doesn't provide mouse coordinates for security reasons. Mouse coordinates are important for auto-focus animations. So I trained a YOLOv11 model to detect mouse cursors and I run inference in real time while you record. Also, I created my own Remotion-style renderer because I started with…
I asked an HN member for feedback and she blew my mind2010 · slideshare.net · ▲453A few days ago, I responded to a comment by bloggergirl offering to read anyone's web copy and help. I shot off an email hoping for a paragraph or two of feedback on my startup's copy. Instead I received a professional, detailed deck of tons of invaluable well thought out feedback. It must have taken her an entire afternoon. Here's a link to it: http://www.slideshare.net/shereefb/recommendations-for-bettermeans To top it off, this isn't someone with a lot of free time on her hands, she's only days away from launching her own startup (page99test) This community blows my mind!

ScreentellJan 2026 · screentell.com · ▲164I’m an indie dev, and every time I launch or ship anything, there’s this familiar mini-hell: “now I need to record a decent demo…” You probably know the drill: - install yet another screen recorder - mess with audio input / system audio - accidentally capture your messy tabs or notifications - re-record because you forgot to hide something sensitive - open a separate editor just to crop, zoom, or add a simple arrow After doing this a few too many times, I realized I was spending way more time fighting tools than making the actual demo. And most of my needs were pretty simple: short…
Pagecord2024 · pagecord.com · ▲122Hey HN I’ve been at a loose end for the past few days so I decided to build a thing. I’m largely devoid of original ideas so I built a (micro-) blogging app with a slight twist: you run it using email. All you need is an email account. No new tools to wrangle. No password to forget. Compose in your favourite email editor and send to a secret address. Pagecord does the rest. It's great for bloggy long-form writing, but it’s maybe even more fun for micro-blogging your thoughts as you would a Twitter feed (you can subscribe to people/blogs using RSS). I figured nobody would pay so it's…

Hey HN! Pilots everywhere are required to keep a logbook of all their flying hours, aircraft, airports, and so on. Since I track everything digitally (some people still just use paper logbooks!), I put together some data visualizations and a few 3D globes to show my flying history. This globe is probably my favourite so far: https://jameshard.ing/pilot/globes/all If you’ve got ideas for other graphs or ways to show this kind of data, I’d love to hear them!

I was the main contributor to workout.lol, an open-source fitness app to easily build a workout routine. The project had traction (1.4k GitHub stars, 95 forks, ~20K visits/month), but was eventually sold due to video licensing hurdles. The new owner stopped maintaining it, and the repo went abandoned. Over the next 9 months, I sent 15 emails to try to save it : no replies. Feature requests & issues were ignored. The community was left with a "broken" tool let's say. I couldn't just let it die So I built the new version from scratch with the same open-source spirit, but a better…
