YouTube's killing adblockers, so we made an undetectable one
Hey HN! Me and my brother made an Undetectable YouTube Adblocker that doesn't get detected by Youtube (yet anyhow). Would love to hear what you guys think!
YouTube's killing adblockers, so we made an undetectable one launched on November 21, 2023 with 11 votes, #1,398 of 4,332 launches that month and more than 75% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 2 years on.
In plain words
This is a browser extension designed to block advertisements on YouTube while avoiding detection by YouTube's anti-adblocking systems. Created by two brothers, it functions as a Chrome extension and aims to provide an undetected viewing experience. The tool targets YouTube users who want to watch videos without ads despite YouTube's ongoing efforts to block adblockers. Its primary distinction is the claim that it remains undetected by YouTube's current detection methods, though the creators acknowledge this status may change over time.

Hi HN! Since Youtube no longer allows AdBlockers, I built my own extension to get around their video ads. If there is an ad it temporarily manipulates the video; Mutes the volume, sets speed to 10x, and skips it if there is a button. SpeedVitals▲829Hi HN, I’m Kashish, one of the co-founders of SpeedVitals, a platform for testing & monitoring website performance with a major emphasis on Core Web Vitals. Until now, our platform has only focused on Synthetic/Lab testing, such as Lighthouse tests and TTFB tests. But now, we have developed a Real-User Monitoring platform that doubles up as a Web Analytics tool. One major feature we have that most RUM tools lack is Performance Audits. Just like Lighthouse audits work on Lab test data, our audits work across all the real-user visits and gives suggestions on what task to prioritize first.…
