In plain words

Zero-codegen is a TypeScript tool that infers types directly from Protocol Buffer definitions without requiring code generation or compilation steps. It enables developers working with Protobufs to use full type safety in TypeScript projects while skipping traditional build processes. The tool is designed for teams looking to streamline their development workflow and reduce the overhead of maintaining generated code alongside their type definitions.

Zero-codegen, no-compile TypeScript type inference from protobuf message s. protobuf-ts-types lets you define language-agnostic message types in proto format, then infers TypeScript types from them with no additional codegen. In short, aggressive use of TypeScript's template literal types . Annotated example from the source: // Pass the proto string you want to infer `message` names from as a generic parameter type MessageNames < Proto extends string > = // Infer `message` parts using template literal type WrapWithNewlines < Proto > extends `${…from github.com

We've built a new type-stripping compiler for TypeScript source: `ts-blank-space` It's: * 5.6x faster than `tsc` due to zero-codegen * Written in TypeScript * Uses the official TypeScript parser * Accurate/preserved source locations * In used in production It uses the same novel approach that inspired Node 22.6.0's `--experimental-strip-types` functionality, released last month

Hi Hacker News! My name is Sagar, I’m working on a startup called Speakeasy - we’re making all APIs self-service. The platform is currently in beta, but we’re independently launching this tool which you can use to generate language-idiomatic, statically-typed TS SDKs from any public OpenAPI schemas. We hope to continue iterating on this to give devs a way to easily generate high fidelity client SDKs for all the major languages. Inspiration for this product is from past experiences struggling with OpenAPI. I was originally optimistic about using the OpenAPI tools to build out our offering,…

    A no-build fullstack SSR TypeScript web framework2025 · jsr.io · ▲75

Hi HN! I'd love to seek your insights on a fullstack web framework that employs a different approach: no build. It's not a new concept. The folks as Preact mentioned it: https://preactjs.com/guide/v10/no-build-workflows/ However, in the Web Framework market, I've yet to find many that support both "no build" and "SSR". There's always some sorts of "client mount" and "server mount" and either has (or both have) to go through a build (bundling) process. With the build process, there comes additional maintenance efforts and cognitive load. I've enjoyed wrestling…

Initially created to solve my own problem but thought it might be useful for others as well. - SWC compiler - TypeScript type check support - Live reload support - .env file support - Path alias support - Typescript script runner - REPL support Please tell me I am not going down a rabbit hole.

  • Hi everyone, I built PyXL — a hardware processor that executes a custom assembly generated from Python programs, without using a traditional interpreter or virtual machine. It compiles Python -> CPython Bytecode -> Instruction set designed for direct hardware execution. I’m sharing an early benchmark: a GPIO test where PyXL achieves a 480ns round-trip toggle — compared to 14-25 micro seconds on a MicroPython Pyboard - even though PyXL runs at a lower clock (100MHz vs. 168MHz). The design is stack-based, fully pipelined, and preserves Python's dynamic typing without static type restrictions.…
