Upload your DMs, and you can talk to a version of that person — reconstructed from how they actually texted. Same tone. Same humor. Same patterns. With enough data, it gets uncomfortably convincing. It raises weird questions: If most of who we are now lives in chat logs, is that enough to persist us? Is this identity or just mimicry? And who controls it after we’re gone?
