24 alternatives to Amazon Seller sent me a postcard asking me to leave a 5-star review
Wanted to jump in and throw this here since this is about the first time I've been reached out to by an Amazon seller by mail, directly asking me to leave a 5-star review in exchange for a $20 gift card. With an already struggling E-commerce market, it's quite strange to see the lengths sellers are going to, to buy 5-star reviews from buyers. I am considering reporting this to Amazon, however wanted to run this by you guys and hear similar stories from you! Here is the card I received: https://i.imgur.com/9ARMZdI.png
This is not a software product but rather a discussion post about a postcard received from an Amazon seller requesting a five-star review in exchange for a $20 gift card. Hi there, So a buddy a couple of days ago came up with the idea for a new SaaS product regarding gpt and image generation. We did a quick MVP that barely works, it breaks almost 50% of the time but we still wanted to validate the idea before going all in. We have almost 1k followers on Twitter together. Did a quick post describing the idea with a stripe link in the comments with a 5$ value, no landing page, and no shipped product. In exchange, the buyers become beta users. Around 30 mins later we got our first sale next 30 mins another 5$ and so on. Do we consider the idea validated? The…

Shopping online can be pretty tedious if you care about the quality of what you are buying. The time it takes can scale pretty proportionally to some combination of the value, relative importance, and complexity of the purchase. I think LLMs can help expedite and personalize the online shopping experience to a degree marketplaces just don't currently provide. I don't think anybody really wants to read the product descriptions of a bunch of products, read reviews, do pairwise product comparisons, and find the best deals across different websites? Or am I wrong? That's why I think this…

FakeFind▲13When Mozilla shut down Fakespot, shoppers lost one of the best tools for spotting fake reviews. We built FakeFind to bring it back — faster, free, and AI-powered. FakeFind works as both a Fakespot alternative and a cross-platform Amazon review checker (plus Walmart, eBay, Best Buy, and Etsy). Paste a product link, and it flags suspicious patterns, gives a Trust Score (1–10), and provides a concise review summary so you can shop with confidence. No accounts. No extensions. Just clarity. https://fakefind.com

http://www.getrewardly.com HN - we have finished our first iteration of a landing page for Rewardly, an electronic credit card based loyalty program, and we'd love to get feedback. We decided to keep text to as minimal as possible but we may have gone overboard. Our main concern is that users will not really understand what this product is in our strive for simplicity. We plan to have more detailed information on the "How It Works" page but your feedback on the issue would be awesome.

We found that evaluating products based on ratings alone often is not helpful, and some products have too many reviews to efficiently read. Also, for many products, we discovered that finding where the well-written and thoughtful reviews fell was more important than the content. So, for Startup Weekend Kansas City last weekend, we created an app (Horsebot3k) which parses Amazon to identify the better written reviews, and what topics people like and dislike. We got the app fully working over the weekend, and won first place! Check it out at http://horsebot3k.com We also have a 90 second…

Hi HN. I'm a founder working on a sales tool. I found my own pitch was a major weak point, so I created a 10-point framework to grade it objectively based on best practices (value prop, social proof, etc.). I'm trying to validate if this is a problem other founders face. The scorecard is just a simple page with the checklist. Any feedback on the framework itself would be really appreciated.

https://ilovethatshirt.com I want to hear some feedback on why we might not be getting the conversions expected. We launched using a WordPress setup just to limit our risk on development (e.g. produce an MVP), so I would hope that is not the feedback (but if it is, so be it). Please be brutal as normal :) If we suck, we need to hear it. Thanks!

Hey folks! I'm building an app to let anyone shop on Amazon with crypto. How it works: [1] Add "baggins.ai/" before any Amazon product URL [2] Fill in your shipping details [3] Pay with your preferred wallet (BTC, ETH, DOGE, USDC, and more) Features: - Supports 1-2 day Prime shipping - Uses Coinbase Commerce for secure transactions Here's an early version for y'all to test: https://www.baggins.ai/ Keen to get feedback on the UX and feature requests! My LI to show that it’s not a scam :) https://www.linkedin.com/in/kisum-chan/
