Products that do what An 8-bit live gamecast for baseball does
Hey HN, I built a website to watch live baseball games in an 8-bit broadcast. It takes live MLB data streams and converts them into near real-time pixel art gamecasts. Been waiting to share this for when there’s actually a good slate of games happening since the site is pretty bare otherwise. Here is today's schedule: Mets @ Reds - 9:40am PDT https://ribbie.tv/watch/game/824503 Royals @ Nationals - 10:05am PDT https://ribbie.tv/watch/game/822721 Marlins @ Phillies - 10:05am PDT https://ribbie.tv/watch/game/823450…

I often don't have time to watch games that interest me, so I built a site that lets you step through each play at your own pace. You get to see the game unfold without the 'spoiler' that occurs when you're constantly shown the live status. It's pretty fun - even if it's no replacement for watching the real thing! Main link: http://www.replayray.com/ A link to Thursday's NFL season opener: http://replayray.com/app/game.py?type=nfl&id=2017090700 NOTE: Most of the week 1 games on the front page aren't clickable until they start tomorrow. The season opener,…

I built didtheywinornot.com this week in my spare hours before work. Currently it only does baseball scores, but as new seasons start in the fall, I think I'll expand it to other sports. Would love some feedback and any ideas as to how to make it better, keeping in mind that this is meant to be single purpose and not at all bloated. Did I miss a stat that people really care about? Is the amount of information good enough?

@MajorLeagueUmp or @[TeamNickname]Ump You're watching a baseball game. The pitcher throws a pitch right down the middle of the plate, but the umpire calls it a ball. Was it really a bad call or did you just have a bad angle. @MajorLeagueUmp or @[TeamNickname]Ump tweets bad ball and strike calls in realtime and includes: - A picture of the pitch location - Percentage of the time a pitch in that location is called a strike - How far the pitch was from the edge of the *real life* strike zone On TV, FoxTrax will show you where the pitch went relative to the rulebook strike zone, but it won't…

I am not from North America, and moved there a couple years ago. After being invited to the first fantasy league and seeing the platform they were using, I couldn't bring myself to check it every day. An excel sheet would have been more appealing to use than this. So I decided to create my own. But on the side? This would take ages. I am very confident with Rust and JavaScript, but it still takes ages to build something like that. Good prompts, and a few long nights later, and I could create something fun and easy to use. Have a look: https://fantasy-frontend.fly.dev/ The…
