There are plenty of Artemis II trackers out there. I looked at a bunch and kept running into the same issues - some had data that didn't look right, it was hard to use on smaller screen, others felt overly complicated for what I actually wanted to know: what's the crew doing, where is Orion, how fast is it going. This is a little hobby project that I hope you enjoy. You can see where the International Space Station is now, with live HD video from NASA, on a realistic 3D globe. The positions of the sun and moon are also accurate, though distances aren't to scale. The other day I googled "Where is Artemis" expecting to find a tracker showing me the position, but instead getting results from news articles without live data. I eventually found the NASA tracker (https://www.nasa.gov/missions/artemis-ii/arow/) and https://artemislivetracker.com/, but neither is optimized for mobile and frankly I found them both underwhelming. Hello HN! Sharing a recent side project of mine, the Atlas of Space, that I built out to explore the Solar System. As a long-time space nerd, I realized recently that I didn't have a good intuition on the scale, speed, and relative orientation of the celestial bodies around us. So over the break I built out a kind of spatial Wikipedia to click around and learn about planets, moons, asteroids, and other bodies orbiting the Sun. Earlier this year, I made a web reader that only showed a list of post titles, author domains, and links. I really like Stellarium and SkySafari but I felt like these are primarily geared towards exploring the sky but not so much "here are the long list of things I want to see, when can I see them tonight and where". There's also not really a great option I've found that combines sky object planning + location weather details while still being free so I built this. I built a browser-based simulator of NASA's Artemis II mission — the first crewed lunar flight since Apollo 17. You fly the actual mission profile: launch to parking orbit, raise to High Earth Orbit, fire Trans-Lunar Injection when the Moon is in position, swing behind the Moon, and return to Earth. The physics uses RK4 integration with real Earth and Moon gravity. Have fun experimenting with what happens if you don't time it right!

Sup HN, So I got tired of bouncing between Flightradar, MarineTraffic, and Twitter every time something kicked off globally, so I wrote a dashboard to aggregate it all locally. It’s called Shadowbroker. I’ll admit I leaned way too hard into the "movie hacker" aesthetic for the UI, but the actual pipeline underneath is real. It pulls commercial/military ADS-B, the AIS WebSocket stream (about 25,000+ ships), N2YO satellite telemetry, and GDELT conflict data into a single MapLibre instance. I don't always all-caps, but when I do, it's because every word is an acronym. The NASA HORIZONS[1] system is a telnet service that provides planetary data and ephemeris tables, which are basically coordinate-time plots for celestial bodies. It's pretty archaic and somewhat difficult to use, especially since it just dumps out text tables and you have to parse it to do anything with it.
