This is an open‑source Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that gives any LLM a sense of the passage of time. Most MCP demos wire LLMs to external data stores. That’s useful, but MCP is also a chance to give models perception — extra senses beyond the prompt text. Six functions (`current_datetime`, `time_difference`, `timestamp_context`, etc.) give Claude/GPT real temporal awareness: It can spot pauses, reason about rhythms, and even label a chat’s “three‑act structure”. Runs locally in <60 s (Python) or via a hosted demo. If time works, what else could we surface? - Location /…

Hey HN, I built pg-mcp, a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for PostgreSQL that provides structured schema inspection and query execution for LLMs and agents. It's multi-tenant and runs over HTTP/SSE (not stdio) Features - Supports multiple database connections from multiple agents - Schema Introspection: Returns table structures, types, indexes and constraints; enriched with descriptions from pg_catalog. (for well documented databases) - Read-Only Queries: Controlled execution of queries via MCP. - EXPLAIN Tool: Helps smart agents optimize queries before execution. - Extension…

Hello! We open sourced all our current MCP servers to platforms like Slack, Google sheets, Linear, Perplexity and will be contributing a few more integrations every day to the project. problems we're hoping to solve: - Many people are creating MCP servers for the same apps. They're scattered across different repos but flavors of the same thing. We're making one standardized mono project for all MCP servers. - Startups are charging for hosting MCP servers. This is blocking tons of people from being able to play around with MCP casually. We're hosting them for free. - Non-technical people…

Hey all - I work at Vantage, a FinOps platform. I know AI is peak hype right now. But it has definitely changed some of our dev workflows already. So we wanted to find a way to let our customers experiment with how they can use AI to make their cloud cost management work more productive. The MCP Server acts as a connector between LLMs (right now only Claude, Cursor support it but ChatGPT and Google Gemini coming soon) and your cost and usage data on Vantage which supports 20+ cloud infra providers including AWS, Datadog, Mongo, etc. (You have to have a Vantage account to use it since it's…

Got tired of every MCP example being overly verbose, or needing Docker or Mac-only scripts, so I threw together MCP-123. Point it at a tools.py, run `server.run_server(...)`, and the client auto-discovers/calls functions with OpenAI. I hope this is useful to you all.

More than a decade ago, I adopted the self-imposed rule, if I answer a question more than once, the third time I need to be able to answer with a URL. Today, I published one very large URL - a book distilling what I learned from helping people work remotely at GitHub, and I wanted to rethink my rule for the age of AI. What if, instead of a URL, I could create an interactive experience that could tailor the guidance to your particular situation? What I ended up building was an Open and Async Advisor MCP server. To install (in claude or any other AI): > claude mcp add open-async -- npx -y…

Hi HN, my name is Philip, I’m the co-founder of Glasskube and one of the creators of HyprMCP. This project started when we did what everyone was doing — building a remote MCP server and launching it. Building the first local MCP server for testing was quite simple, and we had our first tools ready within a day. The next step was turning that into a production-ready remote MCP server. As we exposed the MCP server to our users, we wanted to authenticate them with our existing authentication methods. We dove deep into authentication. Our approach was to build an auth proxy and plug it in front…

I built a Model Context Protocol server that allows users to interact with Kafka using natural language instead of complex CLIs. It uses LLMs to interpret commands in plain English and executes the corresponding Kafka operations. This makes Kafka more accessible to non-experts while maintaining its powerful functionality.

Author here. I built this after getting frustrated with Amazon Q and wanting a more developer-friendly way to interact with AWS infrastructure. It's a local MCP server that lets Claude safely access your AWS environment using your existing local credentials. I've tried it on cases like: - Visualize my networking setup - Prepare a thorough analysis of my AWS costs and give insights how to cut it - Find S3 buckets without encryption enabled and their total size And it works surprisingly well. Let me know what do you think!
