Hello HN! I built my first iOS app, Bebop. I made it as a companion to file-based desktop apps like Obsidian and NVAlt, and also as a way to learn iOS development and try out GPT/Copilot. Notes are saved as plain-text files in the iCloud/Dropbox folder of your choice. I felt that most notes apps out there had too many organizational features (better suited for larger screens) that got in the way of capture (my prime mobile use case). This project began when I realized that despite trying many fantastic note-taking apps, I often defaulted to dumping notes into chat apps like Slack or iMessage.
