Hi HN! Since Youtube no longer allows AdBlockers, I built my own extension to get around their video ads. If there is an ad it temporarily manipulates the video; Mutes the volume, sets speed to 10x, and skips it if there is a button. I got tired of fighting through spammy tool sites just to do something simple, so I made Toolbrew in a few hours on Replit. Just a bunch of free little tools in one place. Text converters, SEO checks, video downloaders, that kind of stuff. No signups, no ads. If there is a tool you wish existed, you can request it on the site and I will build it. Do your worst. Seriously, ANY tool. Maybe it helps, maybe not. Enjoy!

Firefox 149 ships adblock-rust (Brave's Rust engine, MPL-2.0) completely disabled with no UI. It's controlled by two about:config prefs with no WebExtension API, so you can't touch them programmatically from a standard extension. This extension gives it a UI: ETP toggle (via browser.privacy API, instant), filter list manager with clipboard helpers for the manual about:config steps, and 8 preset lists. You can also add your own if you so desire.

The idea tickled my fancy, so I've put together a Chrome extension which detects if a page is using Google Analytics, and if so it injects a small script which sends bunk utm (urchin tracking module) data to the GA backend. It sets the traffic source to "DO NOT WANT!", and the campaign name to various things like "I do NOT want noisy ads!" Here's the…
