Hi HN! Since Youtube no longer allows AdBlockers, I built my own extension to get around their video ads. If there is an ad it temporarily manipulates the video; Mutes the volume, sets speed to 10x, and skips it if there is a button. AdBlitz: It automatically skips the skippable ads and accelerates(16x) non skippable ones, enusring there is no interruption. It can skips multiple ads, yt surveys without affecting your youtube account as well as no effect on creator's economy No setting up things. Lightweight. Just download and enjoy. Most importantly it is open source.

YouTube started blocking me because I use an adblocker. So I made this simple Firefox Add-On (haven't made it cross-browser yet, contributions welcome!) to open videos in alternative front-ends (piped.video by default). Default keybinding: Alt+J to reopen current page in the configured frontend. Shift+Click to open any video in a new tab in the configured frontend. You can change the default frontend to something else if you like.

I have made a browser extension that plays only the audio, blocking the video on YouTube, YouTube Music and all embedded YouTube videos in third party sites. It can also hide the thumbnails and avatars and skip the ads. It is compatible with Chrome, most of the Chromium browsers and Firefox. Additionally, it can be installed in smartphones using the Kiwi browser that supports extensions from the Chrome Web Store. I released the extension back in October, 2019 but from now the source code is available on GitHub as well.
