My partner usually writes substack posts which I then mirror to our website’s blog section. To automate this, I made a simple tool to scrape the post and clean it so that I can drop it to our blog easily. This might be useful to others as well. Oh and ofcourse you can instruct GPT to make any final edits :D

We are longtime members of HN and this is our only submission requesting feedback from the HN community on our product, Clipboard which we have been developing for the past year. Hi fellow hackers, I'm Ved, I came across the pain point of having a reader that could provide threads as articles after scrolling them many times and missing the context of the original info shared. To solve my itch I decided to build a thread reader without Ads(all existing sol. were full of them), since X/Twitter API was very pricey, I did some reverse engineering to convert rendered X.com/twitter pages to an API and host it in a VM (which obv. was dead cheap). I built a small desktop tool called PasteClean to solve a personal annoyance: sharing URLs filled with tracking garbage (utm_source, fbclid, etc.). It runs in the background and automatically cleans URLs in your clipboard when you copy them. It handles 50+ tracking parameters and can also unshorten links (bit.ly, t.co) to reveal the destination and clean them before pasting. Tech stack is Electron/React/TypeScript. The core privacy features are free. I added a "Pro" lifetime license for some advanced features (unshortening, batch mode) to support development.
