Products that do what Curv - a wearable camera does
This is a hardware project that I've been working on the side. It's a wearable camera (don't roll your eyes yet) that captures events from a first person view. The difference between this and other wearable cameras is how it's worn. I used a makerbot to print the enclosure and bought a spy cam and gutted it to fit inside the enclosure. The device sits snugly on top and around your neck. It looks more like LG's around the neck bluetooth headset. Anyway, my reason for placing the camera there is that your neck experiences the least amount of shake and movement. And also because of the location…

Hey HN! A few years ago someone kept trying to steal my motorcycle, so I decided to make a small camera with really long battery life to catch them. The hardware/software is totally open source, but the companion app only supports macOS currently. (I'm a big fan of native apps, and didn't want to block releasing on Linux/Windows support.) I've hit a little bit of a wall though so I'm very much open to ideas! I've written a bunch more on the link (+photos are there), but essentially this uses 2 fingerprinting approaches: - retro-reflectivity of the camera sensor by looking at IR reflections. mixed results…

Greetings, HN! I have created a new kind of 360º video camera with GPS and live streaming capabilities. A device like this has never existed in this form factor or price point before. After launching on Kickstarter, it has gotten coverage in Techcrunch and Boingboing, and received 89% funding in the first 24 hours. I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts about the device, the Kickstarter campaign, and any ways of publicizing the campaign that I might be missing. I'm most interested in hearing anyone thoughts about how the Kickstarter page might be improved to boost conversions, as the clock is…

Hey all! I've been using this stack personally for a while now and decided to automate it a bit by turning it into a template I can reuse. Hope others might find it helpful!
