Hi HN folks, I'm a co-creator of the Dapr CNCF project and co-founder of Diagrid. Today we announced a free-to-use web app that takes any form of workflow diagram (UML, BPMN, scribble in your favorite drawing tool or even on paper) and generates code that runs in any IDE and that can be deployed to Kubernetes and other container based systems, based on Dapr's durable execution workflow engine. This essentially allows you to run durable workflows in minutes and leaves out the guesswork for how to structure, code and optimize a code-first workflow app. I'm happy for you to give this a try and…

Hey HN, Waleed here. We're building Sim (https://sim.ai/), an open-source visual editor to build agentic workflows. Repo here: https://github.com/simstudioai/sim/. Docs here: https://docs.sim.ai. You can run Sim locally using Docker, with no execution limits or other restrictions. We started building Sim almost a year ago after repeatedly troubleshooting why our agents failed in production. Code-first frameworks felt hard to debug because of implicit control flow, and workflow platforms added more overhead than they removed. We wanted…

I think graph is a wrong abstraction for building AI agents. Just look at how incredibly hard it is to make routing using LangGraph - conditional edges are a mess. I built Laminar Flow to solve a common frustration with traditional workflow engines - the rigid need to predefine all node connections. Instead of static DAGs, Flow uses a dynamic task queue system that lets workflows evolve at runtime. Flow is built on 3 core principles: * Concurrent Execution - Tasks run in parallel automatically * Dynamic Scheduling - Tasks can schedule new tasks at runtime * Smart Dependencies - Tasks can…

Over the past few months, a student and I set out to explore the impact of vibe coding on web development. Somewhere along the way, we ended up building Daf·thunk, a visual workflow editor. It leverages Cloudflare’s fantastic infrastructure (Workers, D1, KV, Workflows, AI, etc.) to create surprisingly robust workflows that can be triggered manually, via HTTP requests, by email, or on a schedule. During development, we primarily used Cursor with its agent and tab modes, alongside Claude Sonnet 3.5, 3.7, 4, and Gemini 2.5 Pro. Occasionally, we switched to MAX Mode when working on or reviewing…

I am working on a modular open source framework called Griptape that allows Python developers to create LLM pipelines and DAGs for complex workflows that use rules and memory. Griptape can be thought of as "Airflow for LLMs," providing an alternative to the agent-based LangChain approach. Developers can also build reusable LLM tools with explicit JSON schemas that can be executed in any environment (local, containerized, cloud, etc.) and integrated into Griptape workflows. They can also be easily converted into ChatGPT Plugin APIs and LangChain tools via adapters. Tools can be thought of as…

I've been exploring the (not so=) amazing potential of AI in coding and have compiled a list of tools. From AI-powered IDEs to code generators, this resource is my contribution to the community. I'm still on the fence about including txt2sql projects, as their functionality seems too basic to me. And I'm personally maintaining this, so your feedback is wellcome.
