I've posted this game here before, hopefully a repost is fine as the game has changed quite a bit (improved AI, improved mapeditor, much quicker gameplay, etc). Game is based on JavaScript/Canvas and WebSockets. On the browser side the map is pre-rendered (as a background image), just the mobile units/buildings and animations are dynamically rendered. The lobby server is made in node.js, but the game server is C++ for performance reasons (mainly the pathfinding). I found the C++ WebSocket libraries out there to be too difficult to use so I made my own based on the rfc. Overall I…

I played a lot of Valorant and got mad, so I made an aim trainer that analyzes your raw crosshair movement to explore your raw motor and perceptual weaknesses instead of scoring scenarios. It also chooses sens and difficulty as part of the tasks, and makes playlists that are optimal difficulty for you to learn and progress faster!

I've been working on a football pass visualiser for the past week. It uses open data from StatsBomb to analyse and visualise passing patterns, allowing users to explore and filter the data by pass distance, team and players.

Hi all, I’ve been working on this project for a while but haven't shared it properly on Hacker News. It is a casual gaming platform focused on simple multiplayer games that can be played in person with a central screen (like a TV) or remotely via video chat. You can also play on your smart Android based TVs via the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gametje (it was just released recently so could be buggy). It is also available directly in Discord: https://discord.com/discovery/applications/12153230008666071... as an…

Hi HN, I wanted to share a web game I’ve been building in HTML, JavaScript, MySQL, and PHP called LINEX. It is primarily designed and optimized to be played in the mobile browser. The idea is simple: you have an 8x8 board where you must place pieces (Tetris-style and some custom shapes) to clear horizontal and vertical lines. Yes, someone might think this has already been done, but let me explain. You choose where to place the piece and how to rotate it. The core interaction consists of "drawing" the piece tap-by-tap on the grid, which provides a very satisfying tactile sense of control and…

I built this game to test out the MediaPipe hand-tracking API. Play brick breaker using your webcam + hand movement -- levels get progressively harder with faster speed / smaller paddle. All processing is done in real-time within your browser. This project is built using javascript, html canvas, and mediapipe hand tracking. This game is free and open source, offered under an MIT license. Github repo: https://github.com/collidingScopes/manual-brick-breaker Hope it's fun for you -- would love to hear feedback and suggestions for improvement.

Inspired by watching my sons coach using a carry around whiteboard, plus also starting to coach my wifes over 30s womens amateur team I wrote a mobile app for amateur football/soccer coaches. It allows you to add your players information, manage substitutions during games (who's on the field, whos on the bench) as well as drag around players into formations, draw tactics on the screen and share using the IOS share features to email, messages etc. Build your tactic and share it with the team between games. It's free and its designed to just be an easy thing for coaches to take around…

Tippy Coco is a volleyball game in the browser. You can play with a friend at the same keyboard, or solo challenge the built-in opponents. As for the tech: it's all TypeScript + HTML5. I did not use a game engine; I just made a game loop with setTimeout and the artwork is all just png's drawn on the canvas. The sound is played through the HTML audio API. Input is watching keyboard events and the Gamepad API. One thing: I know this is 2023 but it's not a game for phones. It's for a laptop or desktop PC with a physical keyboard. It also works ok on an iPad with a physical keyboard. Tippy Coco…
