I was on the eternal quest of searching for a properly gamified productivity app that keeps me motivated throughout the day and in the long term. After a few months of a fruitless search, I made up my mind and decided to build it myself! I've since launched FocuMon a little over a month ago. Quite a few early users told me it has helped them stay focused, so I'm excited to share it on HN for ya'll to try it out and let me know how I can make it better! FocuMon is like an idle Pokémon game where you can collect, level up, and evolve cute monsters by being productive! It puts a reward layer on…

Hi HN! Super proud to showcase Foqos! I wanted to create a way to physically block apps on my phone, always had a bunch of NFC tags, combined the 2 together over the holiday break and Foqos was born. You can create profiles, write them to NFC tags and track your weekly focus. Its completely open source and will always be free! There is an affiliate link in the app for nfc tags and donations are completely optional Link here: https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/foqos/id6736793117

Planndu 2.0▲86I used to take on way too many projects at once. One day, I opened my laptop and just couldn't work on the same thing again. Staring at my growing to-do list only made it worse. I was basically paralyzed by my own plans. Then I tried something ridiculously simple I remembered from school: Pomodoro technique. 25 minutes. One task. Stop if you want. Somehow that tiny bit of focus actually worked. That's why I built Planndu. It combines tasks, notes, and a Pomodoro timer in one place. Sometimes, the simplest trick is all it takes to get moving again.

I've been building Focu, a mindful productivity app for macOS, these past months. As someone diagnosed with ADHD and depression, it's been super helpful to journal daily and use an AI to reflect and get feedback. It's not a replacement for therapy, but it sure has been complementary. The app uses Ollama to provide the user with a locally running AI, the downside is that it does require a powerful device, but I've had super good results with Llama3.2:3b which is not too heavy to run at all. I'm using Dexie.js to store the data in IndexedDB although I'm considering moving to "file over app".…

Focido▲5I've been struggling with my own to-do lists for years. Apps like Todoist or Habitica are great for reminders, but they never quite push me over the edge when motivation dips. So I built Focido: a social to-do app where you hire actual humans as motivators. Here's how it works. You post a task – say, "Run 5km tomorrow" or "Finish that report by Friday" – and pick a motivator from the marketplace. They check in via chat, nudge you with encouragement (or gentle guilt), and you confirm completion for XP points. It's built on Flutter for iOS/Android, with Supabase backend for real-time…
