This is my first emulator. It is still missing a few bells and whistles like the sound timer, but otherwise it passes the basic tests from Timendus (https://github.com/Timendus/chip8-test-suite). I've also been thinking about making a Fortran dialect suitable for CHIP-8 (https://fortran-lang.discourse.group/t/fortran-chip-8-interp...).

A while back I wrote a CHIP-8 emulator (which is considered the Hello, World! of emulators and is more accurately a virtual machine since historically CHIP-8 was an interpreted language running on top of the COSMAC VIP to make game programming easier). But a few months ago I got really interested in embedded software, so decided it would be neat to port my emulator to a STM32 MCU and design a console around it as a learning experience, since CHIP-8 never existed as a physical system. More recently I've been learning about the Forth programming language and after a lot of searching online (in vain) for a Forth interpreter for the TI-84, I decided to write one myself. It's been fun demoing this to others, because it's a very unexpected use of a calculator. Hello all! Build clean, minimalistic analog clock webpage to Cloudflare Pages. This is for (maybe): - kids to learn - for second monitor - old tabled on shelf - .. Themes and screen wake lock buttons with auto-hide. Goal is to keep it as clean as possible. This is part of my journey on pybind11. I wrote a tiny FM Synthesis library in C++ and a Python wrapper for that using pybind11. There is a command-line piano app in the examples directory if you want to play with it. Here is the link: https://github.com/charstorm/koelsynth/tree/main/examples/si... My next target is to attach this to some kind of physics simulation - like a bunch of balls moving around in a box with some internal walls. When the ball hits certain trigger points, it produces the sound.

I've never posted on ShowHN before, but I wanted to share my Xmas 2025 project; to try a new approach to controlling our kids screen time. This also involved massively over-engineering a solution in order to play with a shiny new gadget (and avoid the in laws at Christmas, obviously) I've shared some learnings on AI coding with embedded devices, and how I approached the product design/hardware selection side of things.
