Just finished this over the last few weekends, wanted to get this in front of a few users. A few things: - There are no users as of me posting this. - Add "Hacker News" to your interests once you've signed up. It'll allow us to see each other. - You will only see other users with similar interests. - Only common interests will be revealed. Let me know any feedback/suggestions/bugs/idea sucks, etc.

There's been lots of discussion recently about finding other HNers to talk to / bounce ideas off / work with, some Google spreadsheets were set up to share details but they were soon vandalised. I had a spare afternoon yesterday (which turned into a long day) and here's the result: http://www.hackernewsers.com/ It's only open to people with HN accounts, it lets you post your biography, location, skills etc. Anyway, I hope you like it and find it useful.

My personal itch to scratch just recently has been the umpteen formatting foibles of HackerNews. So, in the spirit of making the web more personal again, I knocked up a TamperMonkey userscript to fix up the worst of my personal bugbears. This isn't an attempt at a complete rebrand/redesign of the site, instead it's just fixing up what I think are the biggest design/readability issues whilst trying to remain true to the site's existing aesthetic. I keep meeting so many hackers with great ideas, and they have either a hurdle, or a lack of a path to get to where they need to go. So I have created this form that anyone can fill in, and then share, with the hope that it will be seen by someone who can come along and help them. I want a tool that gives a voice, a loud-speaker, to hackers so that they're efforts get recognized, and get the support they need. Please feel free to fill in this form and then share it. Hello HN! Here's my November Startup Sprint project (coded in two days). http://hackerlunch.com It allows you to post your lunch plans and lets other hackers join you. I built this because I often see HN users are interested in meeting each other if they are in the same area. I am not a coder, so this version is very rough. I built HackerBuddy.com with the idea of helping the Hacker News community get one-on-one help with fellow hackers that know their stuff. It matches up people that are good at a particular skill (Ruby on Rails, Python, beta-testing, general startup advice etc) with people that need that specialist help. A Hacker News client with a clean, mobile friendly UI. Features : - bookmark stories. follow discussions / read them later at your convenience. - quickly search for articles using keywords.
