What works now: user signups, org creations, private/public repos, and importing GitHub repositories (both as read-only mirrors and full migrations). I’ve been in the MLOps space for ~10 years, and data is still the hardest unsolved open problem. Code is versioned using Git, data is stored somewhere else, and context often lives in a 3rd location like Slack or GDocs. This is why we built XetHub, a platform that enables teams to treat data like code, using Git. Unlike Git LFS, we don’t just store the files. I built a GitHub repository template which automates the process of configuring a new repository to take web page screenshots using GitHub Actions. You can try this out at https://github.com/simonw/shot-scraper-template Use the https://github.com/simonw/shot-scraper-template/generate interface to create a new repository using that template, and paste the URL that you want to take screenshots of in as the "description" field. The new repository will then configure itself using GitHub Actions, take the screenshot and save it back to the repo!

Freenet's philosophy is "decentralize everything" and one of the things I've long wanted to apply that to is Git. The original Git concept was decentralized but for practical reasons most people use centralized hosting services like GitHub. For anyone unfamiliar, Freenet[1] is a general purpose platform for building decentralized systems. So I implemented a working prototype which already hosts the freenet-core repo, integrating as a git remote helper.
