Hi everyone, I'm kinda involved in some retrogaming and with some experiments I ran into the following question: "It would be possible to run transformer models bypassing the cpu/ram, connecting the gpu to the nvme?" This is the result of that question itself and some weekend vibecoding (it has the linked library repository in the readme as well), it seems to work, even on consumer gpus, it should work better on professional ones tho

Hi HN, YC w24 company here. We just pivoted from drone delivery to build gpudeploy.com, a website that routes on-demand traffic for GPU instances to idle compute resources. The experience is similar to lambda labs, which we’ve really enjoyed for training our robotics models, but their GPUs are never available for on-demand. We are also trying to make it more no-nonsense (no hidden fees, no H100 behind “contact sales”, etc.). The tech to make this work is actually kind of nifty, we may do an in-depth HN post on that soon. Right now, we have H100s, a few RTX 4090s and a GTX 1080 Ti online.…

This is something that I've been working on on-and-off in my spare time for the last few years. I started in 2020 during Covid trying to do a Mount and Blade style map in UE4, and it grew from there until where it is now - I would just add a feature, then another, until it came together. Since the start of the year I've really been trying to polish it some more. I've got the full thing planned for a Q3 25 release. The ~500 kB NBSDGames 6 has managed to be published ahead of GTA 6! 2026 is the year of Linux desktop because of NBSDGames 6! I play them all the time, maybe you would too. Some games are newly invented original ideas. https://github.com/abakh/nbsdgames

Hey HN! You know when you wanna build a new PC, and need to watch a bunch of videos to find the best parts, and then tweak your shopping cart to fit your budget? Well, this new app can help you. It recommends the best hardware for your usage (gaming or work), and considers your budget. It's really helpful, even when you got expertise on hardware. Check it out, and feel free to suggest stuff! Hope you like it! https://www.pcbuilderai.com/

Hey all I've been working on a website called GamingHerd that has spawned from dealing with so many cheaters in Valve's Counter-Strike 2. Watch this video if you're interested into the different scales of cheats that can be used, pretty much undetectable: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ox1mBxrVulk&ab_channel=HaiX Currently, Valve does not seem to have a viable solution for dealing with cheaters nor are they transparent about their intentions (I'm sure for good reason). I can only imagine the complexities they have to deal with, and at the same time there is a potential…

Started PC flipping as a hobby (buying used parts, building PCs, and selling them for a small profit). Found that focusing on used parts on eBay gives the best margins - like finding a GPU 20% below market, pairing it with other deals, and selling the complete build locally. I discovered that eBay marketplaces (.com, .de, .co.uk etc.) often have different prices for the same items! Or just completely different items. So I built an eBay price scanner for PC components. It scans listings across different Ebay markets, calculates median prices, and flags anything selling below market (including…

I've made a GPU comparison site: https://gpu-prices.com/US/ Yes, there was one yesterday - I got beaten to it. This one is different in that I've put a lot of work into categorisation, so you can filter down quite precisely. For example, VRAM-per-dollar, limiting to Nvidia, and a minimum performance score allow you to find good ML GPUs. It currently supports Australia, Canada, Ireland, the UK, and the US. The tech stack is Python for data pull and static site generation then Cloudflare Pages for actually serving the site. It updates three times a day, but I could increase…
