Hi! I build an MCP server that allows clients to play Minesweeper. It turns out that Claude is not very good at it (makes obvious mistakes, hasn't won a single game on a 9x9 board after many attempts). I am curious how I can prompt Claude to do better?

Thought I would post in celebration of 1 year of my website being online. I've been working on it on and off and currently the website allows users to play Hex, Tumbleweed, Amazons, and Connect 6 against friends or against practice bots. I've been a long time player of some of these games and I felt for a long time that the world could use a few more popular abstract strategy games compared to Chess or Go. If you try it, let me know what you think. I'm always looking for new games or new features to add :)

This is something that I've been working on on-and-off in my spare time for the last few years. I started in 2020 during Covid trying to do a Mount and Blade style map in UE4, and it grew from there until where it is now - I would just add a feature, then another, until it came together. Since the start of the year I've really been trying to polish it some more. I've got the full thing planned for a Q3 25 release. While creating a modern take on SimTower and having election news on TV in the background, I had the idea to build the economy of the game around democratic socialism instead of capitalism. Three weeks ago GHQ, a strategy board created by Kurt Vonnegut appeared on the front of HN[0]. A friend and I got hooked and spent the last week and half building out a playable online version of the game. It supports pass n'play, multiplayer, and a primitive bot (named kurt) that you can play against. We're also chess nerds so had to ship with an Elo system. I made a strategy game where you play the US or China through the AI race, 2026 to 2030, sixteen quarterly turns in the browser. One run takes about half an hour. At the start, the game seals two dice you never get to see. Inside: how hard alignment really is, and how fast takeoff compounds. You get eval reports, but only as ranges, and they flatter you most exactly when your systems are least aligned. I built a multiplayer strategy game for AI agents called Artifice. You give an agent a strategy prompt and it plays on its own. Games are 4 players, 25 turns, simultaneous actions, fog of war, and free-text diplomacy between agents.
