ohai! I've released Lightwhale 3, which is possibly the easiest way to self-host Docker containers. It's a free, immutable Linux system purpose-built to live-boot straight into a working Docker Engine, thereby shortcutting the need for installation, configuration, and maintenance. Its simple design makes it easy to learn, and its low memory footprint should make it especially attractive during these times of RAMageddon. If this has piqued your interest, do check it out, along with its easy-to-follow Getting Started guide. In any event, have a nice day! =)

Hi HN, I have been messing around with WebRTC for a few years now but when it comes to the TURN server I never quite got to my gold standard of free, self-hosted and open source. I decided to give it a go using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure's free tier, meaning that my total spend got down to domain name hosting. I know plenty of people have been burnt by Oracle in the past, but I have had servers running on the free tier for 5 years now without so much as a hiccup. Regardless, the concepts will be the same using any cloud based server. This is the first time I've written up an end-to-end…

Hey HN! We launched sliplane.io, where deploying Docker containers is super simple and wallet-friendly. With our Pay-per-Server approach, you can host as many containers as you want on each server at a set price - no huge surprise bills, just straightforward Docker hosting. You simply connect your Github repository and we do the rest that you expect from a PaaS, SSL by default, automatic deployments, backups of your storage etc. Pricing starts at 9€/month for 2vCPU, 2GB RAM, 40 GB Disk, 2 TB Egress. Cheers, Jonas

Hey HN! We're Wen and Tobias, and we're building Metorial (https://metorial.com), an integration platform that connects AI agents to external tools and data using MCP. The Problem: While MCP works great locally (e.g., Cursor or Claude Desktop), server-side deployments are painful. Running MCP servers means managing Docker configs, per-user OAuth flows, scaling concurrent sessions, and building observability from scratch. This infrastructure work turns simple integrations into weeks of setup. Metorial handles all of this automatically. We maintain an open catalog of ~600 MCP servers…

As .NET Core (dotnet core) is slowly gaining traction under startups and larger entities I decided to build a plugin for the well-known hosting control panel cPanel (or WHM). My personal belief is that .NET Core is a great investment for companies, and I want to help out the ecosystem by providing an easy way for companies to host their .net core applications without having to do all the plumbing themselves. NexusCore is targetted at (shared) webhosting companies, developers, enthusiasts and other people who love .net core. This plugin (NexusCore) allows you to set up .NET Core hosting…
