Hello, HN. I'm a long-time lurker here and this is my first Show HN (be gentle). I created Glue which is best described as "Twitter meets Tumblr meets Medium" which is longer than just saying another Twitter alternative but IMO not 100% accurate. This is a little project I've been working on for a while in order to better learn Python. Although IRC may not exactly be the most exciting medium, I still find it to be fun and useful, this interest lead me to writing a bot. In doing this I realized that what would actually be more interesting would be if I had a framework. www.schmeebs.com I built this site in two days. I tried to make it a fusion of Twitter + Digg in that people will be able to follow certain "domains" of news then be able to see popular stuff from there. Its as real time as it can be at this point. Would welcome any thoughts on it!

A friend of mine and I were talking a while back and we realized that it would be cool to run some sweepstakes on Twitter. We put up a sign up page for a while to collect some emails and we got 200 sign ups. Once we received some sign ups we got together about 2 weekends ago and we put together a web application that lets people create sweepstakes on Twitter by counting the mentions and picking winners etc. I want to get your opinion on the site before we let those 200 people know that we are ready for beta. So I just did my semi-annual "log in to Twitter to see if it's any good yet", and found that in my absence I had followed a few thousand new spam accounts. Sweet. That explains why they emailed me and forced me to change my password last year. Being Awesome, Twitter doesn't have any way to simply toss out all your followers and start from scratch. I'm currently traveling the world and I was tired of having to download 2MB+ of data to open any link on Twitter and wait 10+ seconds for it to load. Data is expensive abroad and I don't have LTE everywhere. So I built a Twitter bot @NativeArticle that automatically tweets screenshots of the mobile version of a url. I've been getting very concerned by the "Filter Bubble" effect in the recent past, so I created a quick tool to fight it - for Twitter users, at least.
