I think it's finally time to lock version 0.2 of my 4d side project. (Since previous Show HN a couple of years ago: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=37100760 I scrapped lots of stuff and concentrated on making a javascript "game engine") The sole purpose of this project is to explore whether it's possible to make the human brain spatially aware of four dimensions using Virtual Reality. It’s my first ever game project, my first time using Unity, first time writing C#, and my first anything with WebXR, so please be gentle! To manage expectations, it isn't visually pleasing…

In each level, the goal is to climb to the top of the wall. Each wall has a unique layout of handholds, magnets, hooks, and elevators, and only one path to the top. The challenge is finding the right combination of moves to get you there. After each unsuccessful attempt, you can view the entire wall from afar to plan your route and strategize before trying again. I just released this on App Lab and would love to get some feedback and see how much interest there is in the concept. It’s listed at $3, but if anyone here wants a free key, just email me at [email protected]. I also set up…

Hello HN, Since the first time I used my Oculus DK2, I've been convinced that virtual reality could disrupt education as we know it and some amazing experiences like Apollo 11 (first kickstarter I back) just proved that... That's why I'm building Unimersiv, a platform dedicated to virtual reality courses on which VR developers will be able to share and sell their educational content. I envision a world where people will be able to learn anything faster (sports, sciences, history...) through their VR headset. I would love to know what you think about this idea, is VR educational content…

I am making a virtual HDMI monitor using Viture Pro XR glasses and an SBC ( currently OrangePi 5 Plus because it has HDMI-in ). What it does is map the frames from the HDMI input onto a virtual display that is controlled by the IMU data from the glasses ( 3DOF only ). I've put AR in quotes in the title because many won't view those display glasses as true AR but by tracking the head movement it comes close. I am trying to build kind of a "low cost" version of a virtual screen that acts like a monitor and can be connected to anything that has an HDMI output I started off using the official…

Just a fun hack I did while bored over the weekend. My wife was busy shopping, it got me thinking that can VLMs solve the indoor location problem in a mall? Can I just show a VLM a map and an image and have it doa good enough job locating me? I hacked this P.O.C and it seems to work.
