A friend and I spent a month throwing together a visual rule engine product– wanted to share it with HN today. I've been building automation tooling for a few years at prefix.app and one of the messier things both to support and to teach users was around encoding logic in their automations– most folks get a hold of the basic concepts quite easily, but every (visual) automation tool out there seems to have their own way of actually pulling it all together. Hi HN! I kept hearing about Lisp and why it was special but didn't have a great place to start. I wanted something self-contained that helped me develop intuition rather than fluency. My hope is this is helpful for casual programmers, professionals from other fields who interact with code, or engineers who haven't had much exposure to interpreters or compilers. Started this because configuring Fabric8 for EKS was driving me crazy. Building a client that auto-detects your environment (IAM roles, profiles, local configs) so you don't have to wire it all up manually. Still pretty early and building for EKS right now. Long way to go, but putting it out there early to see if others have hit the same problems or want to help shape where this goes.

I created this project for my own use, and as a means to develop proficiency in Rust and Clojure. It is now at the stage where it could be useful for others, and my intention is to further develop it so it becomes increasingly useful. I made a DSA practice tool for Ruby. It’s test-driven, runs locally, and is easy to extend with new exercises. Would love feedback on the interface and which problems to add next.
