Products that do what I Couldn't Find a Good Open-Source Web Video Editor, So I Built One does
I wanted an open-source video editor template for React. Found no good ones. reactvideoeditor.com is paid. So ended up building this. It is powered by Remotion, provides non-linear video editing support, live preview and local exporting for now. If you're building a tool where you need to give customers a video editor in the browser, this can be helpful. MIT licensed. Let me know what you guys think, feel free to drop by and make a PR/Issue. https://github.com/robinroy03/videoeditor

Weave is a React app that provides a multi-track timeline editor to perform basic video edits like trimming, stitching, transitions, audio tracks etc. which maps directly to an FFmpeg command to render the video. I tried my best to have the React "video" preview closely replicate the FFmpeg lavfi filtergraph output, but naturally this is not perfect (especially replicating the `eq` filter using SVG filters is quite inaccurate). I've built this as a prototype for another project I'm working on, so I don't plan to actively maintain it, but I thought it'd be cool to share it. Try it live:…

We are working on an open-source .docx editor library for apps that need to edit Word documents in the browser. We just shipped 1.0. A lot of existing approaches convert .docx into HTML and lose document semantics along the way. Our editor parses OOXML directly and uses its own rendering+layout engine to produce paged documents with html/css. Edits round-trip back to .docx, so you’re always editing the document, not its representation. The core rendering engine is framework agnostic, with React and Vue ui adapters on top. It’s Apache 2.0. Happy to answer questions.

The one-liner: You give it a script, it generates a portrait video in 10 minutes. No stock footage, no templates—it writes code that renders as video. ## Why I built this We were building game dev courses at Outscal and needed to produce a lot of video content fast. Traditional video production was slow. AI video generators looked weird. So we tried a different approach: what if video was just code? Turns out it works. We can replicate specific art styles, and the output is consistent and editable. ## What it can do - Generate 30-60 second shorts from a script - Match specific visual styles…

We've just released the first version of GPT React Designer. A live editor that can generate React components. Copy and pasting code before you see how it would look is tedious. The goal is to extend this into an app that supports different styling frameworks (Chakra, Bootstrap, ...). Potentially integrate it directly into a codebase to perform tasks and so on and allow non-developers to simply utilize this to copy & paste code.

Descript costs $24/mo, so I built this over a single weekend with Fable! Introducing Rescript: edit videos by simply editing the transcript text. Drop in a video and it is transcribed locally with per-word timestamps and speaker labels. Delete words in the transcript and the corresponding clip is cut from the video. Runs fully in the browser: Local, free, offline and open source. → Github https://github.com/wassgha/rescript → App https://wassgha.github.io/rescript
