A Python library to simulate a Zoom H6 recorder remote control - mattogodoy/h6
This Python library provides programmatic control over Zoom H6 digital recorders. Developers can use it to automate recording operations, manage settings, and integrate the device into larger audio production… Below are 24 products that do a similar job, ranked by how close each is in meaning and then by launch-day votes. Hey HN! I built a local Python prototyping tool that is finally the Python development environment I've always wanted. It has a Jupyter notebook for data crunching, a database of your choice (Python or MongoDB), and a Streamlit app for building a frontend visualization. You can edit the Streamlit backend via an embedded VSCode editor, or locally on your own IDE. The best part for me is that the database connectors within Jupyter and Streamlit are configured out-of-the-box, so you don't need to spend time thinking about how to tie all that together - you can just pick the database you want to…

In 2020, Magenta released DDSP [1], a machine learning algorithm / python library which made it possible to generate good sounding instrument synthesizers from about 6-10 minutes of data. While working with DDSP for a project, we realised how it was actually quite hard to find 6-10 minute of clean recordings of monophonic instruments. In this project, we have combined the DDSP architecture with a domain adaptation technique from speech synthesis [2]. This domain adaptation technique works by pre-training our model on many different recordings from the Solos dataset [3] first and then…

This is part of my journey on pybind11. I wrote a tiny FM Synthesis library in C++ and a Python wrapper for that using pybind11. There is a command-line piano app in the examples directory if you want to play with it. Here is the link: https://github.com/charstorm/koelsynth/tree/main/examples/si... My next target is to attach this to some kind of physics simulation - like a bunch of balls moving around in a box with some internal walls. When the ball hits certain trigger points, it produces the sound.

RM2000 Tape Recorder makes it stupid simple to grab audio samples and organize them: just record the sample, give it a title (and maybe some tags), and it is saved neatly into a directory of your choosing. I'm a huge datahoarder and have always appreciated tools / services like PureRef and Are.na which help me make sense of everything I collect. Those services concern themselves with images and video - I wondered, why can't the same be done with music and audiofiles? I actually got the inspiration for the filenaming scheme from the Emacs Denote package - every sample is saved in the…

Hey HN, I’m an ex-Google engineer trying to get back into music production. I needed a way to sequence my hardware synths using AI contexts without constantly switching windows, so I built this. It runs entirely in the browser using WebMIDI. No login required. It connects to your local MIDI devices (if you're on Chrome/Edge) and lets you generate patterns. Tech stack: [React / WebMIDI API / etc]. Link: www.simplychris.ai/droplets Code is a bit messy, but it works. Feedback welcome.

Hi everyone! I've been working on a web search interface for Python's documentation as a personal project, and I think it's ready for other people to use... Please give it a go (and join me in praying to the server gods): https://pythondocs.xyz/ Here's the tech stack for those interested: - Parser: Beautiful Soup + Mozilla Bleach - Database: in-memory SQLite (aiosqlite) + SQLAlchemy - Web server: FastAPI + Uvicorn + Jinja2 - Front end: Tailwind CSS + htmx + Alpine.js I have ideas for future improvements but hopefully the current version is useful to someone. Let me know what…

Seamlessly automate your audio-visual setup! This open-source framework uses the Open Sound Control protocol to integrate audio mixer consoles, OBS, PTZ cameras, and more. Perfect for live production enthusiasts, streamers, and tech tinkerers. I have made it originally to meet our needs, then opensourced it: We needed to move a PTZ cam based on the stage/pulpit mute states on our X32, but it is capable for way more. Let me know what do you guys think! Cheers!

finstruments is a Python library designed for modeling financial instruments. It comes with the core financial instruments, such as forwards and options, out of the box, as well as position, trade, and portfolio models. finstruments comes with the basic building blocks, making it easy to extend and build new instruments for any asset class. These building blocks also provide the functionality to serialize and deserialize to and from JSON, enabling the ability to store a serialized format in a document database. This library is ideal for quantitative researchers, traders, and developers who…
