Products that do what I made a list of online education resources; help me finish it does

I'm hoping that by putting it up here you can help me improve the list. Any suggestions at all are welcome. If you know of any that I'm missing, please email me at [email protected]

Hi HN, The discussion pops up regularly about which MOOCs and courses to take so I figured I'd start a curated list of recommendations. It's by no means exhaustive (and it's just the ones I know) and is quite broad. If you had any suggestions, feel free to create a PR or Issue, or even respond to this post and I will add it. I'd love to be able to capture quality somehow, but not sure of the way to go about that just yet. https://github.com/tombasche/professional-development

I've been working for about 8 months on http://www.Learneroo.com, a site to teach programming and more through challenges. I created the site and all the content on it, and I'm looking for some feedback. Thanks!

Hi! Long time reader, first time submitter. I've finallllyy got my first webapp online. It's been a long time coming, I started it over a year ago and just been an hour here, a couple of hours here, and a period of a couple of months of nothing. I first wrote it as a way to learn some python it sort of grew to fill a need I had. It's at a point now where I'd LOVE some feedback as I am going round in circules. Please, it's free, just hit the home page, plugin in a name/email and url you want to links checked on. If you use the name 'DeleteMe' I will remove the account after a week, so feel…

Hi HN, Over past few months, some of us had been collecting links to learning resources (courses, interactive explorables, books, podcasts, apps, forums, livestreams etc) in a GitHub repository of markdown files. Since we also wanted to have features like advanced search ("Show me podcasts on machine learning which are entertaining and less than 40 minutes long"), we felt the need for an app. Give it a try: https://learnawesome.org You can think of LearnAwesome.org as a GoodReads-equivalent tool generalized to links to ALL media (not just books). Some features you might like: -…

Hey all! Super excited to share this! If you're familiar with the r/InternetIsBeautiful sub-reddit, then you'll enjoy this. I built the website as a fun side project project over the weekend, and it re-imagines what r/internetisbeautiful would be if it was a newsletter. It's meant to be a completely free and community generated resource of the most interesting, useful and awesome websites from the depths of the internet. The list is tiny right now and I would love to hear your recommendations of websites that you think we should include. Hope you enjoy it, and would love to hear…

I've been working on this for a few days now. The goal is to create a library of the best free educational content available and to build personalised learning paths for each user, using only free resources and at no cost to the user. Let me know what you think.

I got sick of spending 5 minutes finding a class I liked. I got even sicker of constantly taking the three instructors that just dump new courses out daily. Built something that uses my class history to make a recommendation in each activity for me. Would love to hear if these classes look right to you, and of course any general feedback.

Hey there, I'm a self-taught web developer and I need your help in gathering resources that helped you learn from scratch or improve your web development knowledge. I think this is the best way because what worked for me maybe won't work for you, but when you have a lot of resources coming from different people with different learning styles, I think it's the best curation ever. I intend to take all those resources and put them online on an website, so they will be accessible to as many people as possible. I made a google docs spreadsheet and put already a couple of resource types: from…

I made a post a few days ago asking if any software companies/start ups needed technical video tutorial writers and I had a few very interested and serious respondents email me. I've been looking for something to do with this domain hence I give myself a Christmas present.

A couple of months ago, I realized I was wasting too much time on Reddit. So I quit cold turkey and created a website that would email me top stories from Reddit every morning. After testing it on some of my friends for a month, it is now ready for the world. If you like discovering interesting stuff on the internet without losing much time, check out Redditletter and sign up if you like! :)

/ This is an old post in HN (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=5360453), but could not get enough response, so posting again, A friend told me that 'Show HN' will help better. */ Hi All, (http://www.mistrics.com/) I made a project that helps in documenting Academic projects and sharing them with teachers. It also provides facility to ask questions. Students needs to simply create projects, after that just create task and documents under it. Also inviting others into team and so on.... In Indian colleges this process is all manual right now. And I am trying to get this process online. I am…

My niche is LSAT prep. I write books of explanations to LSAT practice tests. It's a pretty big industry, as people will pay a lot to improve their odds of law school admissions. I realized that, with my books, I have ~400,000 words of quality content that people search for. Lots of long tail searches for individual LSAT questions. So I made a site of free explanations for the most recent LSAT: http://lsathacks.com/ Took about a week to write them and put them up. If it goes well, I'll release my other explanations. Hope to make this a hub for LSAT study. If it's well received,…

Hey, guys and girls :) Please notice, that my intention is not to advertise my project here, but to ask for your advice. Long story short: we've noticed that it's very hard to "sum-up" any idea on one page and share it without using a blogging platform. Let's say you want to collect and present your point of view on "IA reaserch". You can write a blogpost or use social media to share your opinion (that would reach limited amount of people though). We really missed a tool that allows you to embed a lot of different resources on one page and than to share it with one link. This way you can…

Nick and I have been going through Startup School working on a site for developer flashcards. We have simultaneously been studying our own flashcards for Startup School. It's been a really easy way to remember what has been going on in the course. I wanted to share in case they are helpful to anyone. Thoughts/feedback are welcomed! https://www.flashcardsfordevelopers.com/collections/5b9ff4c1... Hope you enjoy them. Cheers! Niko

I don't normally do this but after submitting this through the usual mechanism and having it quickly vanish off the New list, I figured it was worth a shot. * I do not have any affiliation with this site * These guys need and deserve our support. The work they are doing is pretty outstanding, the amount of quality content is incredible. The site itself is well designed, clean and top-notch. The content is truly outstanding. They are also doing it right, IMO - aka no ads at all - and entirely donation driven. Hence this post... check them out, and hopefully toss them a dollar if you find it…
