TLDR: I made a public only web analytics without signup. Stores views and visitors for 10 days before deleting data. Exactly 25 days ago today I posted here, proud of my new web analytics. The response was mixed and my post even got flagged (understandable). It was my first real launch and I actually made a sale just a day later of 49$(!). Back then my project was pay once, keep forever. Since then I have sadly went over to the dark side (subscription based). Anyways, I never went back to look at the post after the first two hours, turns out I got a lot of answers. Most answers was something…

I wanted to share something I've been working on recently: Statum, a handy web analytics tool. https://github.com/extractumio/statum The journey began when I found myself frequently needing simple web analytics for my projects. I tried Google Analytics, especially GA4, and realized it was quite complex and, at times, not very accurate, especially when I wanted to view stats for the current day or recent hours. Then I tested a few fancy startup solution but ended up with way too expensive plans the expect me to subscribe (I'm not that rich to pay $99/month for every…

I was overspending on GPT-4o. It was really hard to compare different models I could switch to, so I built this LLM comparison tool. It shows leaderboards, pricing, and performance data across 100+ LLMs (including all major providers and open-source models). Key features: - Live pricing comparisons - Benchmark Scores (MMLU, HumanEval, GPQA, etc.) - Context length vs cost analysis - Speed/throughput tests across providers - Quality vs price visualizations - Open source (all data verifiable) Try it out: https://llmstats.com I'd like to know your opinion :) Tech stack: Next.js,…

I've seen plenty of threads on HN about various alternatives to GA, but you can't try them all. So I tried 15 of the most popular, including: Matomo Cloud, Piwik Pro, Clicky, Cloudflare Web Analytics, Statcounter, Chartbeat, Fathom, Plausible Analytics, Visitor Analytics, Google Analytics 4, Mixpanel, Snowplow, Amplitude Analytics, Heap, and PostHog. Basically anything with >= .1% market penetration in the top 1M sites that had as self-service plan. There's no one-size-fits-all replacement for everyone, but there are a lot of good options if you're trying to get off of Google. Happy to…

I've built a little prototype a long while back, to help me keep track of visitors on my website. I didn't like google analytics for obvious privacy reasons, and I didn't like the existing self-hosted options because of how complicated they are. I always wanted a simple, basic tool, similar to plausible, but even simpler. So a few weeks ago I rebuilt my prototype into a reusable tool. And I made it open source. I built a website, a documentation, and I'd be excited for someone else to try it too. Who knows, maybe if enough people like the idea, I might even make it into a SaaS to save…

Hey Guys, We created Leadmachine after a HUGE pivot on ignite100(UK incubator). We could see the pain of all the other startups wasting money and buying poor leads while struggling to find those early customers. Wouldn't it be cool to have contact details for all websites using Olark or Google analytics while turning over £100,000 in the UK? We can do that with Leadmachine. I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have or listen to feedback!

Hey HN! I am a FE dev who is working at a software agency and im making 2-3 estimates per week. Creating estimates is painfull manual proccess, where you have to read a lot of .docx like RFP, SRS etc. This was really tiring for me Also in agency where im working we make estimates in google spreadsheets which is another pain, trying to drag something, copy, duplicate can really mess up the whole layout So i just wanted tool that can just automate this a bit. I just started researching and I couldnt find anything good enough for my usecase. So I made a tool for creating estimates with AI. I…

I was working on validating some of my own project ideas. While trying to find how to validate my idea, I realized the process itself could be turned into a tool. A few late nights later, I had something that takes any startup idea, fetches discussions, summarizes sentiment, and gives a quick “validation score.” It’s very rough, but it works, and it’s already making me rethink a few of my own ideas. It's still a work in progress. I don't actually know what I'm doing, but I know it's worth it. Honest feedback welcomed! Live demo here: https://validationly.com/

https://ilovethatshirt.com I want to hear some feedback on why we might not be getting the conversions expected. We launched using a WordPress setup just to limit our risk on development (e.g. produce an MVP), so I would hope that is not the feedback (but if it is, so be it). Please be brutal as normal :) If we suck, we need to hear it. Thanks!

When Google forced the switch from UA to GA4, I found myself struggling to understand my magazine's performance metrics (I occasionally edit a magazine along with my full-time job). So I built a dashboard that pulls GA4 data and presents it in a clean, intuitive interface focused on metrics that actually matter. It made the job of pulling reports and usage stats very simple for my website and greatly improved my daily productivity. At this stage, it was running on localhost on my machine and during this project, I ended up learning React (coming from a pure C/C++ world). I showed it to…

I spent last 6 months trying to build Simple Ops [1] to democratize website performance monitoring so anyone can use it. A year back, while I was trying to measure performance for Visa List as it became a huge content website with more than 100K pages. Also as data is changing very frequently, it's very hard to keep doing this manually. I searched on google and found that all the solutions are just uptime monitoring and nothing and none of them truly measure performance. So I decided to build one for myself. But it turns out website performance monitoring is not so simple after all and with…

Hey HN, I've just begun my solopreneur journey. I've been a "serial starter" - often starting projects and never seeing them through, and I have finally finished my first project! Maybe this sentiment resonants with some of you, let me know in the comments below I built this tool as a simple no-risk method for turning more visitors into customers by A/B testing your sale promotions and automatically displaying the promotion with the highest conversion rate. Did you know that increasing your conversion rate by just half a percent can have a dramatic impact on your sales without needing…

Hey HN, I've been working on something cool that I wanted to share with you all. It's called Viewpoint, an analytics tool for LLMs like OpenAI, Anthropic models, and Gemini. The idea came from the constant flood of new LLM models and the need to figure out which ones work best for my projects without breaking the bank. With viewpoint, I can track token usage, costs, latency(WIP), and traffic over time, making it easier to compare different models and see which ones perform best and save money. The tool works asynchronously, so it doesn't add any latency to your LLM requests, and you have…

Back in October, I built a web analytics tool. It had two distinguishing features: it was cheap, and it had a weekly AI email summary so you wouldn't have to check your dashboards. Turned out that cheap made no difference, but the few users I had really liked the email digest. The world moves fast these days, and suddenly I found myself experimenting with agents, and doing all my work in Claude Code, so I decided to throw out everything and rebuild the tool as lodd.dev, a headless web analytics tool for agents. 42 MCP tools and a full API that lets agents call and act on analytics data as…

Hey HN! I am a developer working on a startup doing lots of payment integration stuff with payment providers like Stripe. I built a tool to talk to Stripe data, just so that I can answer questions from our team. I turned that into analytics tool (sort of) to answer questions about MRR, churn, revenue etc. (https://www.dataraccoon.io/). There is a two minute demo video on the page if you want to see how it works, or you can use free trial without needing a credit card. I was wondering if you would use such a tool directly in Slack or prefer receiving messages about your metrics…
