Python? R? Nah... Here's a TypeScript KMeans implementation!

Below are 24 products that do a similar job, ranked by how close each is in meaning and then by launch-day votes. K-Means-TS launched in 2021; newer entries below may have overtaken it.

Want something better than k-means? I'm happy to announce our SOTA k-medoids algorithm from NeurIPS 2020, BanditPAM, is now publicly available! `pip install banditpam` or `install.packages("banditpam")` and you're good to go! k-means is one of the most widely-used algorithms to cluster data. However, it has several limitations: a) it requires the use of L2 distance for efficient clustering, which also b) restricts the data you're clustering to be vectors, and c) doesn't require the means to be datapoints in the dataset. Unlike in k-means, the k-medoids problem requires cluster centers to be…

This little project came about because I kept running into the same problem: cleanly differentiating sensor data before doing analysis. There are a ton of ways to solve this problem, I've always personally been a fan of using kalman filters for the job as its easy to get the double whammy of resampling/upsampling to a fixed consistent rate and also smoothing/outlier rejection. I wrote a little numpy only bayesian filtering/smoothing library recently (https://github.com/hugohadfield/bayesfilter/) so this felt like a fun and very useful first thing to…

We've open-sourced Klarity - a tool for analyzing uncertainty and decision-making in LLM token generation. It provides structured insights into how models choose tokens and where they show uncertainty. What Klarity does: - Real-time analysis of model uncertainty during generation - Dual analysis combining log probabilities and semantic understanding - Structured JSON output with actionable insights - Fully self-hostable with customizable analysis models The tool works by analyzing each step of text generation and returns a structured JSON: - uncertainty_points: array of {step, entropy,…

Hey folks. I'm the author of kr8s. I’ve been working on kr8s for a while now and one of my core goals is to build a Python library for Kubernetes that is the most simple, readable and produces the most maintainable code. It should enable folks to write clean code when working with the Kubernetes API. If you're interested in how it compares with other libraries then check out [this post](https://jacobtomlinson.dev/posts/2023/comparison-of-kr8s-vs-...). Happy to answer any questions you might have in the comments here .

I built a small, self-contained K-Means implementation in pure PyTorch: https://gitlab.com/hassonofer/pt_kmeans I was working on dataset sampling and approximate nearest neighbor search, and tried several existing libraries for large-scale K-Means. I couldn't find something that was fast, simple, and would run comfortably on my own workstation without hitting memory limits. Maybe I missed an existing solution, but I ended up writing one that fit my needs. The core insight: Keep your data on CPU (where you have more RAM) and intelligently move only the necessary chunks to…

Hi Hacker News! My name is Sagar, I’m working on a startup called Speakeasy - we’re making all APIs self-service. The platform is currently in beta, but we’re independently launching this tool which you can use to generate language-idiomatic, statically-typed TS SDKs from any public OpenAPI schemas. We hope to continue iterating on this to give devs a way to easily generate high fidelity client SDKs for all the major languages. Inspiration for this product is from past experiences struggling with OpenAPI. I was originally optimistic about using the OpenAPI tools to build out our offering,…

Hi! One of the creators here. Very proud to finally be able to show you what we've been working on for over a year now. Curious to hear your thoughts! Objectiv is open-source (APLv2) product analytics infrastructure. It's built around a generic but strict event taxonomy, open/common data- and infra tools (currently PG, snowplow, working on bigquery with more to come), and the analyses are done using our pandas-like, SQL speaking modeling library called Bach. As a result, we’re moving towards a vision wherein models can be shared openly, independent of product, platform[1] or data…

I started writing this book 10 years ago in JavaScript, got through a few chapters (asymptotic notation, basic techniques, start of sorting), and then abandoned it. Recently I picked it back up, converted everything to TypeScript, and used AI (Zenflow [1] + Claude Opus 4.6) to complete the remaining chapters. I provided the structure, direction, and initial chapters; the AI generated the bulk of the remaining content under a spec-driven workflow. The book covers roughly a first 1-2 year CS curriculum: sorting, dynamic programming, graph algorithms, trees, heaps, hash tables, and more. All…
